I just did this to my 06 LBZ, it was leaking. Hardest part was the clip. I am a big guy and struggled getting in there. Bent it up a little but it came out. Straightened out fine and went back in with nice poss "click", but I had to take the front seat out which gave great access and just 4 bolts. Worth every once of time, brakes are great!

This is a good mod. What a difference in braking. The only thing is I'm part of the 1% with the damn brake switch issue. My brake lights work, but I can't shift out of park. I guess I have to wedge something in the switch.

Sir all you have to do enlarge the hole where the switch attaches. I think it’s a 17 mm drill bit.

@@TheVoyles1979 The hole in the rod on the newer model brake booster that attaches to the brake pedal needs to be enlarged to allow some free play. The lack of free play is causing brake light issues and other problems. I believe the drill bit size is 41/64th or 43/64th. I read that a 17 mm drill bit works also. If you have a step bit that would suffice also.

You missed a bunch of procedures.. the pits brake switch install for those first timers (I done hundreds) replacing o egg ing on high pressure hose and most of all flushing the old burn burnt power steering fluid.

Ive done the egr delete, lb7 up pipe, and 3in downpipe, and the hydroboost was by dar the most frustrating fix ive delt with😂😂. Hopefully never again.

On the 2016 booster the bolt pattern is different and the end of the brake stem is round so you can use a 2016 booster mine is a 2010

Ever had an issue with your turbo vane sensor not relearning on its own? I have an 07 Duramax with code turbo vane sensor not learned, after replacing it. Went to a shop with tech 2 to relearn it. A few days after code came back on for same issue?

Did you have to drill out the hole where the hydro boost connects to the pedal/brake light switch? It fit on my truck without drilling but I noticed my brake lights didn’t turn on unless I pushed hard on the pedal and it was also hard to put it in drive. I had to take mine back out and drill the hole slightly bigger.

My hydro boost is leaking so I'm buying the new one and preparing to do the job. I want to make sure I have everything needed to do the job in one shot. Does anyone if there is a gasket between the brake master cylinder and hydro boost? Are there any other seals or gaskets needed to complete the job?

Check the brake switch fuse also reconnect the wiring harness again to see if that works if not replace the brake switch

Josh I just replaced the booster on my 03 gmc. I can shift out of park but truck feels like rear brakes are dragging pretty good or maybe all are engaging. Any ideas?

The issue is where the booster connects to the master cylinder. The booster pushrod is too long and is pushing the spool valve of the MC open. It's like having your brakes always slightly engaged. You put washers between the 2 units in a pinch, but try the rod from the old booster and see if it's shorter. You could always grind it down just enough to make it work right.
