Hi great video, i replaed the sway bar links and the lower control arm ball joints. But car still make clunk noise when going over bump. Can it be the upper control arm joint ball making the noise ?
@momo5757Ай бұрын
Thanks Bro, it can be the upper control arm because sometimes you don’t see the grease came out from the rubber and still make the noise because it has internal damage already, or it can be the front strut mounting too. If you don’t hit your car in a curb or go over a pothole most like it it will be the upper control arm.
@momo5757Ай бұрын
You need to check the stabilizer bar bushings if those are bad they make clunk noise too.

@momo5757 ok great thanks for the reply if I have more questions I will ask you again. Thanks bro 👍
@RobD1Ай бұрын
@@momo5757I looked at them visually and they look good but how do I know if they are bad? The stabilizer bar bushings that is.
@momo5757Ай бұрын
@@RobD1 With the stabilizer bar bushings, if you see them worn or have lost their original shape, they must be replaced or with a pry bar you can try to make pressure between the bar and see if there is excessive movement. In the case of the upper control arm, you have to disconnect only the ball joint from the knuckle, after is separated you can check if it moves up and down, it is damaged, is it move in circles is good.

I'm looking up videos and it looks like the previous generation of IS required an Allen key to prevent the boot from spinning. Is this still required for the 3rd gen IS. Or can I use a standard 17mm socket and wrench?
@momo57576 ай бұрын
On 3rd gen IS , you don’t need special tools only mm sockets and ratchet, you can have the job done with basic tools. You only use the Allen key when the nut is stripped to hold the bolt.

what brand did you go with? OEM ones are $90 each and i’d rather go with OEM but that’s too much for some endlinks
@momo57575 ай бұрын
Don’t get the ones at the dealer, this one are the same that provide to Lexus was hard to find it, the ones at the dealer they just change the part number and add the logo that’s why more expensive. I don’t know where are you located, but the web site is rockauto.com and the part is SUSPENSIA X30SL0616 front left RWD SUAPENSIA X30SL0617 front right RWD The price are $14.72 +TAX +shipping
