Roberts 1-7/8 in. x 50 ft. Roll of Max Grip Vinyl Installation Tape this is acrylic based, which is mentioned in the insallation instructions below.
@rickl66976 жыл бұрын
I would like to use this for my rv garage (24X50'), but probably, depending on cost may only cover the center 12' wide by 50'. RV weighs between 25-30K lbs on 6 semi truck sized tires(22X 295). Would this mat stay put on the floor or need to be glued down. I would much prefer this solution to an epoxy floor Thanks..

Not sure if you are still answering this thread but I too have concerns about snow, ice , dirt and water working it's way into the seam. We are going to install it onto the floor of a car detailing shop which runs cars and trucks in and out all winter long. After each job there is literally a lake of ice, mud, sand and water on the floor. The only way to clean up the floor effectively after is to pressure wash out the door. As a result, water and dirt penetrate the seams, get under the tiles and lift them up. We tried allure adhesive flooring tiles and it was a disaster. The water and dirt combo destroyed the adhesive. I don't think carpet tape or double sided tape is going to work from my experience with the allure tiles. I'm going to try heavy duty adhesive clear silicone under and between the seams. Hoping for the best, but if you are still there and have any input on this I would be happy to see it!

My husband and i had 2 mats like this in our Garage for probably 15 yrs.or more and we have had condensation problems under neath the mats and we have a vapor barrier underneath our garage floor the moisture underneath the mats caused the concrete to start to crumble when we removed one of the mats the floor dried out right away and we have not had anymore problems since we decided to not put the mat back in, it also was slippery when it would get condensation sitting on top of the mat, In my opinion i would never use these or any other mats on my garage floor for these very reasons especially if you get snow or live in humid climates.

I am really sorry to hear about this. I've been doing this a long time and have never seen or heard of this type of issue. If you happen to have pictures, any product information, etc, I would love to have a look. I would also say that for really wet environments, an engineered tile product is going to be your best bet. www.garageflooringllc.com/ribbed-flow-through-tile/

perfect for my garage. I use it for carpentry and have not have room for a car in years. Epoxy is nice but I cant empty my garage for days which epoxy would require.

what about washing the floor with water? would water just leak thru the Gfloor and never dries beneath the mats?
@Garageflooringllc8 жыл бұрын
+Ken Li Water is going to go through the weakest point. Typically where two are joined together or at the wall. There are solutions, specific to each application type. Just give us a call

Does it matter if I install side to side of my garage or front to back?

Roll out garage flooring should never be rolled out side to side. It creates an issue with the seams

How is this flooring with winter conditions? Our vehicles track in a lot of snow, salt, and sand onto the garage floor. The melted snow makes a watery mess in our single stall garage, kind of wondering if this flooring would be the right choice or not....or if I should just consider painting the floor with a professional garage floor paint.
@Garageflooringllc9 жыл бұрын
StormLaker1975 It works very well, like any product it can be slick when wet. Some other products to consider would be Rust Bullet Garage Floor Coating www.garageflooringllc.com/rust-bullet-concrete/ or TrueLock Flow Through Tiles www.garageflooringllc.com/ribbed-flow-through-tile/
@MoSec98 жыл бұрын
Also, there are matts specific to this problem that you can buy from Home Depot or online to lay on top of this during winter at least.
@alchemista27 жыл бұрын
could you link a mat like this? The only problem I'm trying to avoid is the issue of tracking in snow/slush/salt/etc leaving dirty pools of water on concrete. It seems like this flooring would get at least as messy as the plain concrete, with all the grooves stuff can get stuck in?

Great video. You make it look too easy. My question is: Will water from snow melting from your vehicles, rain and water from your vehicles AC unit. Will the water,"EVER" penetrate through this flooring mat that you and your wife just installed?? This is important for me to know, before I buy. Thank you for your time, and video. Very well explained. I subscribed. Please keep them coming 👍

+Nrfa Mats are made from PVC -- the same stuff your pipes are made of but flexible. Water will not go through them, but water tends to seek the weakest point -- a seam, or the wall. There are installation guidelines we can walk you through to help, but ultimately it comes down to jobsite conditions and the skill of the applicator. Perhaps more important here is learning what you need to accomplish. Do you have a basement below?
@nrfa62298 жыл бұрын
+Garage Flooring LLC Yes I do have a finished man cave right below, which water from melting snow is going through cracks in it. I was hoping this would work, to stop the water leaking in?

If your garage is being used for parking cars you do not want to install it side to side. The tires will pull at the seams.

+Garage Flooring LLC Very good point!!!
@Richiesrant6 жыл бұрын
What if the roll isn't long enough to go lengthways with the cars? We are still going to have a seam right where the front wheels park, unless I go the other way and rear wheels would be over a crossways seam. Cars pulling in are still going to pull at the rear seam I think.
@nrfa62294 жыл бұрын
What about water leaking in between the seams, allowing it under the mats creating mold and mildew?? Have to consider when parking cars on when it's raining out or snowing out. I live in Michigan, so I get the four seasons. Any answers to my questions? I wouldn't want water leaking under the mats. Thank you and please answer all questions.

Firstly, the seaming tape is one sided, which they don't say in the video. Secondly, it doesn't work. You won't get the seams together without gaps and wrinkles. Yes, you will see the seams from the top and sides unlike in the video. I'm trying now to decide whether to buy the seam trim or leave the gaps showing.
@Garageflooringllc8 жыл бұрын
+jack sorensen Sorry I did not see this comment. You are correct. Had I thought about it, in hindsight, I would have said single sided. All the application methods we have shown are for a floating floor in which no part of the floor is adhered to the concrete itself. We have actually found a brand of double sided tape that works well, but we like to walk people through some very specific instructions. There is also a fully adhered method of installation. I realize this comment may be to late for you but I hope it is helpful to someone else.

What brand of double sided tape is it and where can you get it?
@ThurstonHowell3rd Жыл бұрын
9 years late on this so the consensus is front to back and not side to side correct. I don't see a clear answer to this anywhere in the comments.
@Garageflooringllc Жыл бұрын
seams should run front to back not side to side.
