My house also came with pre-existing wiring but I can’t seem to get the wiring for sensors correctly. So you did brown and white for each sensor, and then when going back to the Motorhead what 4 wires did you put in? Which 2 did you put together for the 1st slot and then the 2 for the 2nd slot?

Very informative video!! I have the same model genie opener. Do you have to set and program the up and down limits before the wall control button works. My wall control button is not working, I think because I have not set and program the up and down limits. Thanks in advance for your help.

I bought the same unit from Lowe’s. I paid for a fantastic low price for the installation. I could have done it myself, but I realize that I am slowing down. Instead of the two days, the installer took about two hours. You could tell from the way he worked, that this was not his first install. The belt unit is whisper quiet, especially after I took his suggestion and oil the door hinges. Gone are the 25 year old chain drive craftsman and the creaky hinges. It’s heaven!

John, I have a unique situation, I know everyone’s is unique. But really this one is. The front of my garage sticks out 2 feet from the house. On top of that inside the garage there is a support from the house that goes through the garage that will not allow the door lifting chain rail puller to go all the way to the front above the door. Any ideas. Would like to try and do this myself. I believe would need a bar about 2 feet long from the door to the motor drive chain rail. Any ideas?
@deuceliter10 ай бұрын
Yes, a longer bar sounds like what you need. Just look up "straight garage door arm" and just add another 1 to 2 feet if needed. Good luck!

I agree. Thank you for the feedback! I was by myself, so I had to move the camera quite a bit just to capture the shots I got. But you are right. It would have been a better guide if I had added all the little details. As for the wiring, I would reach out to the manufacturer to get specific wiring info for your model.

Not really a professional install, lots of things you missed, lots of extra steps you took that served no purpose really. Definitely worth paying a professional like me $150 for a professional install, especially because motors are not a “got it done atleast!” type of thing, the way your arm is setup, if it’s incorrect, your top panel will be cracked in a few years, ruins the door in lots of ways if it’s set up incorrectly.
@deuceliter Жыл бұрын
I'm definitely not a "professional." I just followed the instructions step by step that came with it and figured I'd share with others. Feel free to share your expertise on what was missed and the extra steps that could be eliminated and help others out! Thanks for the feedback!
@jkuberski Жыл бұрын
I would think a "professional" would charge more than $150.
@oldtwinsna8347Ай бұрын
@@jkuberski Indeed, a swap from a reputable professional would be double that, at $300, and would charge you extra for a full retail kit as they will not install one you buy and guarantee it as they would from their own sourced parts. Anything less, take it with great suspect they would do it any better than a homeowner could.

Installed this unit today. Straight forward just take your time. The instructions are quite good, just follow all of the steps. I got the WiFi model and that was painless to set up as well. If you are going to use Homelink in your car, you may need to go to the car manufacturer website. I had to to use the garage door opener built into my wife’s car.
