I love the pocket door. It is suck a clean look when the door is opened (out of sight!). You are so right, I need to get better at measuring as I am still running up and down after each cut. (lol) Nicely done video!!

I’m really thinking about adding a pocket door in my bathroom. I think I have just enough room that it should work

Those 7 1/4” Kobalts are great little job site saws! Great video man!

I'm so tired of lugging around a 12" so I picked it up on sale. I wish it would tilt both ways. Might have to upgrade to the Milwaukee 7 1/4. Thanks!
@MyDIYAdventures5 жыл бұрын
Does the Milwaukee tilt both ways?
@BrentDarlington5 жыл бұрын
Yes but it's battery powered only which drives the price up. The kobalt is 10% of the price.
@MyDIYAdventures5 жыл бұрын
Wow! I’ll stick with the Kobalt!

I believe the door sticks out a bit so you can grab it??
@BrentDarlington3 жыл бұрын
Nope, there is a latch to grab on the handle to open it. Door should be flush with the jambs.

Im planning on a pocket door for my bathroom, and your comment about that being a bad idea has me concerned. What precautions should i take? This is a 1909, lathe and plaster situ and we cant cuss a cat in there with the swinging door. And is there some way to tell if it is a weight-bearing wall if we cannot get into the attic? Wait, we can get into the basement, so i guess that wd tell me, huh? Anyhow, thanks for a very understandable vid. I'm pretty green when it comes to this stuff (as in inexperienced, not ecological) and appreciate your logical, common sense ways. PS - i will be re-using the original, solid wood door unless you think it is a bad idea. Any thoughts?

I would have an engineer out too look before you remove any walls
@philbo652 жыл бұрын
Why did you leave the bottom door guides sticking out or did you just not show how to mount them behind the trim?
@BrentDarlington2 жыл бұрын
It looks nice to put them behind the jamb but a nightmare to adjust if you need to, so I usually put the on the outside of the jamb.

Hi Bill, I used this one from Lowes in Canada. The hardware it comes with is all made by Stanley. www.lowes.ca/product/pocket-door-frames/pocket-door-frame-with-hardware-for-common-size-32-in-x-80-in-door-slab-54414
