it is a memory card / multimedia slot , insert memory card and also check its enable or not in I/O devices in bios setting and download drivers for that from website 😁😁😇

When you are often working at other (public) locations, like train, in the café or coworkingspaces, where you do have none or unsecure (basically every pupblic WLan is unsecure) internet access, it is usfull to have a WWAN card. You don't have to give yourself a WLAN hotspot by your phone, you can just use your laptop. Keep in mind, that you need a contract, where a second Sim Card is necessary and your contract should havr an unlimited data plan. If this fits your profile, I would recommend a WWAN card. If it doesn't, and you are most likely working from your office and from home, with no need to work while travel or on the road, you won't need it. But when there's an upgrade option for less than ~60$ while configurating, I would go for it, because when you need it later, cost will be with ease 180$ to get it upgrades by a shop.

i have a question . every 30 minutes my lte speed falls .i dont wait for it to up more than 10 sec. i go airplane mode 3 sec and back turn on the lte , my speeds gets back 10 mgps download, but i do have to go airplane mode every 15-60 minutes . even when i am just streaming a movie.

I would advise to check your sim and update driver. Worth a try with different sim for test

I got mine with the WWAN card and mine says “insert” SIM even though the SIM Is in. Tried 3 different SIM cards. Lenovo quality is really going down the toilet.

That is a dummy sim card slot. You need a real SIM card tray for that. You should just be happy that the antenna (blue and orange) are installed.

You are right. I got the correct tray from lenovo after 2 weeks for free. But seriously, would it be so much expensive for lenovo to manufacture it with real tray from the start?

@@Techgurl I agree. It should come with the real tray as a standard. But maybe that would trick people into thinking that the WWAN was already installed but not working. The only way to tell that the WWAN is not there is the dummy tray :) I found your video because I figured that my Lenovo had the same dummy tray. I then opened it up and it doesn't have the WWAN or the antenna. The WWAN is easy to install but the antenna are harder and the Lenovo support doesn't recommend that I do it myself.

Unauthorized network card is plugged in. Power off and remove network card. System halted. Lenovo sucks for doing that :(

@@radeks00 You have to buy an antenna module, and you have to open the screen bezel, attach the antenna and lead the cable down the motherboard through the hinge. You will need 1 wwan card and 1 sim tray as well. But I have read somewhere, you may not do it, you can use 1 wire of the wifi card, but I am not sure.
