It's all about time inside your vehicle folks. Great way to delay and likely stop your vehicle from being stolen. Thieves don't want to search and hunt for a wire/toggle. Once it doesn't start right away many thieves bail!!

My f350 dually diesel was stolen 2 months ago at 4am on a sunday. I had a camera that caught the theft. It took the guy 24 minutes from the moment he entered my truck to the moment he started it and drove it away. That's a LOOOONG time. I think he was drilling out the ignition. I did not have a kill switch BUT if I had, he would have cranked it longer, making more noise and maybe alerting me.

I just did mine today on a 2001 gmc sierra, the green with white strip wire is not on the exact location as the video shows. But it is in the same area under the relay took a gamble and cut it and it worked. Ran the wire and installed switch inside cab and works great. I saw another video same method but again green/white was not in the exact location as mine but i think if you splice the green/ white wire right under the relay it should work. Thanks for the video.

If you wanted to go super slick with it, you could pull a green wire out from another junked vehicle off the main harness. I think its 8mm or smaller to take that individual block out of the fuse panel. Pull the blue lock pin out and then replace with your pulled wire to that connector. Feed that line down through the factory harness, and route your original factory line down with the harness. Add a connector to it, and everything under the hood would look completely stock. You wouldn't even see anything different under the fuse panel. (That's really getting picky though, and I don't think anyone that is going to try steal your pickup, is going under the fuse panel). You also can do any simple switch where you can hide it. You could do a push button switch you mount under the carpet somewhere. You could find the two wires you need and add it into a fake fog light switch, fake traction control, fake onstar, or even a fake homelink button on the overhead console. Even on the seat, mounted to the frame, under the fabric. If there's a steering wheel control button you don't use, you could replace it and wire it to that. Some of you might want to consider putting a switch in a place to where even your passenger wouldn't see you activate it, (teenagers, or that guy you didn't really want to give a ride too). Nice video man, thanks.

I’m gonna do this soon, I think just to make it harder for someone to rewire the relay wire back to bypass the Killswitch you should probably cut a lot lower into the wire as much as you can to make it inconvenient, you don’t want them to see where you made the original cut
@differentgarageprojects56563 жыл бұрын
Yea not a bad idea bro. Just follow the harness
@im-that-guy-pal2 жыл бұрын
Take both of your wires and put them into a power drill and tighten it up as if they where a drill bit. Then tie the other ends to something and give it a little tension on the wires while you use the drill to wind your wires together. Also if you have wire on a spool like mechanic wire or electric fence wire..you can use a drill to make the wire straight by using the drill the opposite of how it was wound on the spool..

It should since by doing this you’re cutting the power to the fuel pump.
@justinflorek3382 Жыл бұрын
Well he did to the right connection. If he would have done it to the ground, then you could. Since he did it to the hot side, then you can't just jump it. Even if you jump the relay, the main power wire to the pump has the switch on it.
@abl6965 Жыл бұрын
@@justinflorek3382I’ve tested already and you can turn on the truck with a jumper. His switch is not on the hot side, that wire sends power just to relay not the pump itself. Still effective to stop the average person since most aren’t going to try and figure out why its not starting.
