Congratulations to the D&J team on reaching 30k. It’s such a pleasure to watch you guys, you are all hard workers and you always leave the site tidy. I’m just doing a 25 square metre decking job at home and honestly I couldn’t have done it without the tips and information that you guys give out. Keep up the good work and I’m sure that your 30k will continue to grow.

Was taught that anything more than 45° and the brace is not supporting the gate properly and prone to dropping over time and use🤷♂️ you guys obviously know your stuff so was just curious as to whether there was other support built in to the gates that isn't visible on camera?

@ArtSurroundsYouAll3 жыл бұрын
Lads, can I ask how do you stop the timber warping, especially with the weather we have in the North of England, is it the type of timber or is it the reinforced beams across the slats, I only ask as years ago a firm put in some gates for a mate of mine and within a few months the gates wasn't closing together, they had warped that they couldn't close without having to literally lift one of the gates up so the other side could close and the tops of the gates were warped, they did feel light so I am guessing they didn't use the right timber!..

Good job they look great can be very difficult to get the gates to match in the middle, not a great fan of 'hooks and bands' for pair of gates as after a short time the paint waers off and the nice level top becomes uneven and the gates start to catch. regarding the higes i would of had the head of the bolt on the outside and set the hinge with the crank level with the edge of the gate, thats just how i would do it not a critique. 👍

It is important to keep in mind that dry-pour concrete may not offer the same level of strength and durability as wet-mix concrete. Dry-pour concrete can also be more prone to cracking and shrinkage, which can lead to structural issues and the need for costly repairs over time. kzbin.infoQR1wxh4p2Yo?si=x9aKfuq8oV4YvmHI

@@davidwhite4195 true but you are using post mix that dries in minutes for the gates post, why not use to anchor the drop bolts straight on it Anyway your shop is big and quality is standard

@@petrupatraucean7253 yes I see you point but when you drill into post mix it break up as it’s not got the same properties as the high strength concrete that was used in the video. Post fix is for posts and not for concreting areas . And as for the other comment that’s your opinion .

No offence but this vid purports to show how to install gates * But It Doesn't *. It shows a journey and a bit about the posts. Everything else is done out of sight, perhaps by magic. From before to, suddenly, after. No hint of how to make sure gates are at the right height or level or any of the stuff you might want to find out from a video with this title.
