Be sure to always cut the electrical tape vs tear. The end will stick better with a clean cut

Great video, very helpful. I appreciate that you differentiated the wrapping direction for righties and lefties.

Thanks for posting this. I'm replacing an old Lizard Skin on a favorite bat and needed a refresher course. The only quibble I have is that I watched the version for the right handed batter while I wrapped my bat, using your "one dot overlap" method. Unfortunately, during your left handed instruction, starting at 4:02, you introduce the "two dot overlap" method...which, I'm assuming is not just for left handed batters and, frankly, a method I would have preferred to use (for that thicker, "raised ridge feel" as you describe it). Unfortunately, I'm done wrapping the bat, so I guess I'll have to try the two dot overlap on my next bat. If you ever redo this video (and I'm not sure why you would), it would be helpful to explain that one dot vs two dot method at the beginning...before you go into the right handed versus left handed explanation. Thanks!

Idk if anybody has asked yet but, what does it benefit which way you wrap it?
@Hustler_state2 жыл бұрын
If you wrap a left handed bat the same direction as you do a right handed bat, it will rip the wrap apart way way faster.

If you are wrapping a bat that had an old tape on it should I take off all the old glue that stayed on the bat?
@AmazingChinaToday2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a good idea, then wipe with some alcohol when finished to remove any oils for good tape adhesion.

Do you have to take off the original trip on the axe bat?
@99bats7 жыл бұрын
You have to remove the original grip from the bat. If you leave the original grip on, your grip will be twice as thick.

Should I take off the bat grip that came with the bat to install my lizard skin?
@carllutz75235 жыл бұрын
Yes. In my experience you don't have to have the bat perfectly clean but you should remove the old grip and as much old adhesive as possible. Some people use a solvent to help remove any old grip (WD-40, gasoline, turpintine, Goo-gone, etc.). I just use a rough rag and sort of scrub off as much as possible.

Yes. If it's wrapped the wrong way it could come unwrapped easier.

What thickness should I use I have a 32 29
@99bats6 жыл бұрын
That's all about personal preference. BBCOR bats usually have a thin grip installed on them from the factory. You will probably want to go with a 0.5mm or 1.1mm.

So what he forgot to mention is YOU START WITH THE FLAT EDGE NOT the TAPER CUT edge at the very first wrap. AGAIN ----The flat even cut wrap is what you start your wrap. Right or left handed has no bearing whatsoever, as a switch hitter ive done both ways and couldnt feel the difference if you put 10 grand in front of me as a bet. NOTE: Alien Pros is a great lesser expensive wrap and honestly feels better than Lizard. (Senior bat expert)
@danziegelmann35203 жыл бұрын
So you save the thin taper, just to cut it off at the end? Makes no sense
