@@DIYwithMichaelBorders Thanks, but that video doesn't help because there is no interlocking ring like you showed. I ended up just buying a different knob. I talked to one person online who said they had the same problem with the same knob and they just messed around with the knob for a while and the plate came off, but I don't see how. It looks like a manufacturing error to me because the instructions don't mention it and none of the pictures online show it. I also don't see any mechanism that would pop the knob off to allow for the removal of the plate.

Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. Any update? Do you see any noticeable damage to the door knob or inner latch mechanism that you purchased? Hopefully it’s not a damaged lock that was recently returned by someone else that had issues with it. We ran into this a few years ago. We purchased a new door knob that was open at the store. The employee mentioned that he opened the package to show someone how the door knob and inner latch mechanism works compared to one that the customer brought in. We said OK we will buy it, but got it home and realized it was damaged. At that point, we Kinda thought that someone had purchased it previously and brought it back because it was damaged... oh well lesson learned. Please keep us posted. 😎👍

Hey I bought a security door for the outside of my girlfriend's house and I bought that set of hardware and at roughly 2:37 in the video the deadbolt shroud won't sync up into the steel where it's supposed to go into the security door... are they adjustable with a hammer so to speak?
@DIYwithMichaelBorders2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. What’s your update? Around the midpoint of the deadbolt shaft, you will see and adjustment spot which will allow you to adjust the shaft one way or the other. It’s possible that you need to adjust this inner portion so it can properly align. Please keep us posted. 😎👍
@michaelwolff92072 жыл бұрын
The inner circle of the steel shroud that inserts into the door (that lock goes into eventually and is covered by a more decorative bendable piece) has divots 360° around the inner part that section won't fit into the Steel Circle opening of the security door.

@DIYwithMichaelBorders4 жыл бұрын
David Brandel Thanks for watching David. Did all parts slide into place smoothly & conveniently into door after old knob was out? Sometimes you can run into the old knob being slightly smaller and the cut-out in the door itself is accommodating the old knob. This may lead to installers adding a little extra force with the new latch and internal parts which leads to stiff connections. Keep us posted. Hope this help.
