@@TexasHondaChannel id definitely like to see some dyno #s with and without it.. liked the little clip of difference on the injectors. Didnt know it would make that kinda difference. If I'd known that I'd done it when I had my boosted s14. Keep up the work. Like the learnin I'm getting. I actually worked on mine today. Finally. Up till rain hit again

And no its not "better or worse" it just moves the power band around. Go check out a dyno video where they test different "Velocity stacks" on a motor cycle engine. Some bikes even have moving "variable" ones now, "adjustable" because, sometimes longer is better, and sometimes, the" shortest point from a to b" IS actually best. You can use the spacer and bolts from a J35. Use the Intake Manifold and TB as well.

In our opinion the money can be spent better elsewhere. Those spacers are only half of the stock, basically cut in half and with that only gain half of what the OEM stock does. He also nailed it on the heads, these do not technically gain anything, they will shift the power band lower into the RPM, gaining torque lower but losing HP up top. And when we say "A little" we mean a little. With these half size spacers (same as TB spacers) it will gain 1-3wtq down low below 4000rpm and lose 2-4whp up top. The full size spacers which require the hood to be raised is double the power, but again you are sacrificing top end for adding a small amount down low. For nearly the same price you could go with something like our HLP lightweight crank pulley which truly gains power all over the power band and you see a peak for 8-10whp gains instantly, slightly better mpg and a huge improvement in throttle response (less weight is less parasitic losses, basically the engine spins easier). And to the people that will say "You need a harmonic balancer" they obviously are not versed in J's, being all J's are internally balanced and we have run LW pulleys on all of our builds (300hp NA, 450hp nitrous, to 600hp Turbo) with zero issues. We are not saying there's not a place for these spacers, a nitrous application would be perfect for these...but NA, you can spend your money better elsewhere.

I have personally put on the p2r intake manifold spacer on my 08 accord v6 manual and it went from 266whp/244tq to 268whp/255 tq. Throttle response felt better also. Also not I had other mods and was tuned and added the spacer and did not touch the tune. However once you are getting near the top rpm the power HQ/TQ plummet significantly. Pound for pound I still think the p2r manifold spacer is the best mod to buy for the price because it clear ur hood and adds good daily driving power. But if you are looking to race and need power up top then this will strangle the car and you will likely be slower than without it. So it all depends on what you are looking for. I have dealt with Sean @ P2R and he's a great guy, honest and knows his stuff. I now have a fully built NA engine from them so I removed the manifold spacer as the engine now revs to 7500 so it would really be a drawback for my application. But I did give it to my neighbor for his 8th gen accord and he loves it.

@@RV-xb7vy You pretty much reiterated what we said but your overall gains are way more, nearly double what we've personally seen with any spacer (not saying it's not possible). The numbers we quoted are also untuned, so your figures do sound about right when tuned, though the large majority of customers these spacers attract are usually new comers to mods. There are cheap and easy to install, usually ending up being the first mod and then as you did they take them off when real racing becomes an idea in their book. We have Dyno sheets which were sure you do as well but again we're saying the same thing two different way. We both agree it's a personal preference, people take it offensive when we say "in our opinion the money can be spent better elsewhere"...as if we're dogging P2R or the spacer, we never even mentioned P2R...just spacers in general (there are many companies that offer spacers). That's not at all what we're sayjng and even said we feel other mods that truly gain power, not just shifting the power band around, are overall a better bang for the buck. But as all things and what we seem to agree on, there's a time and a place for everything and for everyone. Some people may want that slightly more low end if their towing something, but in our opinion and as you already did exactly what we're saying, you removed the spacer due to the extreme power drop off up top, being you're more targeted towards racing and that 5000-7500rpm where the power band is severely impacted with a spacer beyond 6600epm. It's simple laws of physics and air, shorter plenums (aka stock or short length) allow for better top end. Longer Plenums (AKA putting spacers on) extends those plenums and allows for slightly better low end but top end suffers

@R V what mod you have done to your accord to put down 266whp?
@halferlandperformanceprodu9385
@halferlandperformanceprodu9385 Жыл бұрын
@@RV-xb7vy Absolutely. If you're a daily driven vehicle and want some more torque around down, hands down these will be a small bump. However, the majority of our customer either weekend race or are pure racers and in every instance once the spacer is removed they pick up basically a full tenth .1 sec in the 1/4 mile. You may think that's a lot to gain from just removing the spacer, but as you already mentioned to top end suffer huge from the spacer, basically from 5500rpm to redline, which happens to be where the J-series lives when racing. So it pulls power from the extact area you need to be truly fast. Top end is where races are won, torque in the low end is more for towing and daily driving. As we both mentioned it's 100% users choice.
