I’ve been using the vizm pusher for all my builds as well. Thought about upgrading a few times. After trying to use it the first time, I realized that it was easier to just take the handle rod off and use a 15mm open end wrench.

In my experience, you get what you pay for with sight pushers. I originally tried a $50 one where the screw was buckling and the threads were shearing off on my first attempt. I returned it and got a $120 one and it worked like a charm.

Did you scratch the new sight? would it help to use tape?

The new sight I was installing was taken from another setup I had. It was already heavily used. However in general, it might not be a bad idea to use tape.

When installing new sights you can use painters tape to be safe.

So once you have the rear sight installed, how do you ensure that you have it precisely aligned, and ensure your, shooting straight?

I usually will shoot a few groups at the range. My primary focus will ultimately be my red dot, so I get to get them as close as possible but that's pretty much it.

@@TheTacticalRabbi gotcha, well some of us poor folk, that don't own a red dot, I've been struggling to find a real good way to get that final precise rear sight alignment, I've tried using a caliper, even borrowed a friends Mitutoyo calipers, but they can even be really finnicky and when you're sight alignment can vary by a few thousandths getting a different measurement every time based on just how you hold it, it's a real struggle. I've looked almost everywhere , and everyone has a good video on how to install the iron sights, but no one ever mentions the actual alignment process. The sight alignment tools do have markings, but even they are not accurate because the tools do "flex" and will still move along the markings even though the sight has not moved because not enough force has been applied to move it yet.
