I got my new sensor and I plan to make the upgrade. 2 questions. 1. Isn't necessary to go at official dealer for the calibration of new sensor post upgrade?? 2. Have you checked with your insurance if the upgrade of ACC system would affect the coverage due to upgrading to a non officially recognized system? Tnx in advance.

1. You click the new sensor in place without moving any adjusting screws in exact the same position as the old one. And the ACC sensor position is not that sensitive. 2. I do not think it will affect the insurance at all. They do not bother, at least not in Sweden. Actually you make the car more safe.

If the car automatically adjusts the speed to traffic signs, roundabouts, curves and so on, it has pACC. If your car is older than MY 2019, it does not have pACC.

Yes, it had, but I think it can come with the upgrade if you don't have it.

Hello! I was wondering about the functionality of the pACC, lets say for example I am in a 50kmh zone and set my acc to 53kmh and then drive to a 70kmh, will the speed on acc be set to 73kmh or 70kmh?

Good question and I will try to answer. By default with the upgrade you will get 70 km/h. But if you temporarily borrow a central unit MIB2std from a car of model year 2019 or newer and start it up in your car you will get the possibility to select tolerance setting to low in the menus. Then you can put back your own central unit. With the new tolerance setting it will remember your previous set plus tolerance and go to 73 km/h. The setting can unfortunately not be done by VCDS or OBDeleven.

I doubt it will work with Google maps but I'm not sure. To find out which ACC version you have you can for example use OBDeleven, VCDS or VAS5054 interface. Of course you can always find the part number on the physical acc sensor.

pACC will work even with Google Maps via Carplay. But it does not transfer your selected route to pACC system. So it doesn't know where you're going to turn. It will be able to recognize bends, intersections and roundabouts anyway.

at around 5:10 you can clearly see the speedometer of passat doesn't show the actual speed, when you think you are doing 30, it is actually going 27 kh per h. This discrepancy increases as the speed goes up, like, at 120 you are actually doing 114-115 etc...

The front window camera is sensitive to calibration but the ACC sensor is less sensitive. The new sensor is also installed in the same fixed position as the old one.
