Shouldn't you connect the red wire to the ignition switch? Or at least a switch? That is what it says on a radio manual. It is so it isn't sucking power when not in use.
@vincentbryan196210 ай бұрын
Red wire connected to car fuse. The fuse box is connected to ignition switch. The yellow wire is constant power and that’s connected directly to the battery.
@ironwolf369910 ай бұрын
@@vincentbryan1962 Oh really? Because my 79 Celica has 7 fuses and only the 5A radio fuse, 15A engine fuse and the 15A Gages fuse go to the ignition switch. The rest bypass it. Should I connect the red wire to the wiring going to ACC, or after the ignition switch? U know what, car electric stuff is confusing, but kinda fun. I think I am gonna keep looking at a wiring diagram I found online and see if I can make sense of it my self. It would be pretty cool of I could fix it my self. It is just that I am scared of running the plastic dash by tring to take it off. We just bought the car and we have been fixing the stuff that we can. U till I go curious of the non working radio. Untill I found out that the previous owner just connected one speaker, the antenna, ground and connect the red and yellow wires together. I want to try to fix it my self since I am kinda understanding the wiring diagram. I think I just need some time looking at it and thinking to understand more.

Trying to do this to my 70 impala. So red to the fuse labeled battery, and the yellow to a positive constant power?
@samuelpadilla68434 жыл бұрын
Thanks man i could not find a video on how to do it on my 70 impala ...how or what kind of cabke you use to connect the wire to the fuse box? Ima try this out next day im off work
@vincentbryan19624 жыл бұрын
i use the same type of connector you use to connect speakers to. like on the back of any car speaker. they have like 20 of them at autozone for like $2

Sorry to tell you this bud but that was temporary thing. This is a project car so you’re going to see lots of unfinished things on a project that one is building. I built a deck maybe a week later so it doesn’t slide around. It’s secure today doesn’t move but it’s also my car and I can do whatever I want with it. You outta know better old timer :)
