Very helpful video. Was dreading doing this because I thought that the crankcase had to be split. I have a 300, hope it's the same as these. Look's the same to me.
@BrapStuff6 жыл бұрын
All Polaris 2 strokes are pretty much the same. Luckily the ATVs (Trail Boss, Xplorer, 350L, 400L, etc) can be done without splitting the cases.

I have a 1991 350l trail boss and I think this is exactly the problem I'm having. I've got oil all over the skid plate and some even got into the starter and ruined it. Thanks for making this video!

Ok question what size bolt did you use to pop off the clutch also went on to polaris parts nation looked at there diagram for a 2000 polaris 250 trail blazer alittle confused the one on the stator side I see is correct but on the clutch side 1 part number on the block side shows 1part number then when you go to the clutch cover parts diagram shows a different seal any help would be greatly appreciated

May be a dumb question but can this cause loss of compression
@BrapStuff2 жыл бұрын
Compression takes place in the cylinder, when the piston is rising.

I'm working on a 1993 Polaris Big Boss 6x6 the main output shaft sheared off. It was brought to a shop got repaired then broke again. My neighbour sold it to me for scrap. I was able to get a shaft. I don't want it to break again after reinstalling the gearbox. Any idea as to what would cause the shaft to shear off? Thanks! Oh and by the way your videos are awesome!

I have a scrambler 400 using balance shaft oil. How hard is that to fix and do you have a video. Thanks
@BrapStuff6 жыл бұрын
It's likely a bad crank seal. It would be the one behind the counter balancer timing gear on the crankshaft.

What kind of sealant did you use on the outside of the seal ?
@BrapStuff3 жыл бұрын
Any rtv, gasket maker, anaerobic sealant, or nothing at all is fine.

And it fires up first fricken pull. I am working on a 2006 Polaris Trail Blazer 250 (2-stroke) and it is giving me fits. Checked everything 100x over and nothing seems amiss regarding spark, air, compression, fuel. No leaks from the crank seals either. It tries to fire the first pull - then nothing. We have changed, replaced, inspected, cleaned, etc literally everything among everything. And cannot get this thing to run. So pissed about it too. If anyone has a magic answer (beyond the usual compression, spark, fuel, air comments) we are all ears here......... Checked the emergency throttle cutoff switch as well. And it's fine. CDI new, Coil new, Stator new, spark plug new, fuel new, carb clean and rebuild, new, everything new and checked over and over.
@BrapStuff4 жыл бұрын
Spark plug might spark outside cylinder but not in the cylinder. Make sure you change it with a known good one. Also if you mist gas directly into the carburetor when trying to start that should give you an idea what’s going on.
@HorsepowerHouse4 жыл бұрын
@@BrapStuff tried two brand new ones. Both worked fine in other motors. Both gapped precisely. And the spark plug is getting lightly damp after a few attempted starts. So it is obviously getting fuel. Float level is perfect in the carb as well.

@@HorsepowerHouse Try pulling the exhaust off used to work on snowmobiles long ago be amazed at what will build nest in them backpressure can cause a fire on first pull then flood the plug. other than that recheck new cdi/stator could be bad I have a bayou that drove me crazy (and some days its a short trip) new cdi was bad it checked out good but wouldn't run right old one would run until it warmed up then act up a 2nd new cdi all was good as least as it can get for a kawasuki
