Appreciate this video. My rear AC is blowing warm. Tech’s say it’s probably not coolant leakage so I’m replacing the capacitors . If that doesn’t fix it I’ll probably replace the whole unit. Thanks for the detailed video.

I watched your video to see how the A/C units were installed on a Class A in particular. My issue was not a failed A/C but I developed a pretty good leak during a very heavy rain in a much colder Colorado mountain climate. I found that the water was coming in from between the unit and the roof exterior itself. Seeing that the unit used a thick seal and not any sealant I solved the problem by tightening down the 4 bolts much tighter that held the unit in place. The Coach is a 2016 Thor Challenger that we purchased used in AZ and had been used in warmer climates since new. We never had any leaks when in AZ during washing and cleaning of the roof or during rain. I believe that when it got cold the foam seal contracted some and let water seep in. Thanks to your video I saw how things went together and my fix seems to be taking care of the problem so far. Thanks for the video, well done.

My Mach 8 is bolted down from the inside. That’s the first I’ve ever seen one bolted down from the top. Good video

Other than the squirrel cage, what parts would you use off the old unit?
@ChasingtheDreamRV5 ай бұрын
@@bill4562 definitely the outer cover, may come in handy after hail storm, capicitors, water pump. Squirrel cage motor.

Thanks for the detailed video. I have same unit on a Phaeton and its only blowing warm air. I've been told no refilling them so am planning to do this job myself. Appreciate the information. Terry

Hello, Did you AC blow cold air for awhile then change to warm air? On my RED 2021 this happens after doing a replacement of the AC unit. Thinking it is about the interior duck work. Any info is appreciated. Kerry

These units can be tapped, vacuumed out, and refilled but if you have that done you won't buy a new one this is why they tell you it can't be done.

I really appreciated your video because I’m needing to replace my Coleman Mach 8 Ultra Low Profile unit just like yours if, and when, I can find one. I have a couple of questions. Is your MH ducted, and, if so, did you have to take any special steps to connect with ducting? Second, your replacement AC stood much taller on the foam than your original unit. Did you have to tighten it down more than the video showed to get it to seal to avoid leaks. I’d really appreciate your thoughts because I haven’t been able to find videos or written instructions to help.

Jerry our a/c is ducted and on our mh we didn’t have to do anything in reference to ductwork just line it up over hole and put lag bolts back in...as far as the foam I think the original was compressed more, from either time or the factory, I doubt the factory boys looked at anything and just cranked it down till it was tight. You can always check it after install with a hose before putting covers back on. The install is very easy other than getting it up there...btw I found mine by posting in tiffin FB forums and someone contacted me that he had one, I’m still on waiting list with Tiffin for another if you have the same model I can let you know when it comes in if you haven’t found one yet...

@@ChasingtheDreamRV thanks for the offer. I actually have a 40 ft Thor Tuscany with 3 Coleman 15,000 btu ducted heat pump AC’s with the condensate drain. Is that like yours? I’ve had one on order from a local dealer in Lexington KY since Jan 19th. Thor barely has enough for their new manufactured units and their service center in Indiana couldn’t get me one. I’m pretty desperate at this point.

I`m assuming you had a taller original unit like the mach 3 ? I am looking to replace my original unit on my 2015 Bounder 33C with a low profile one (i need a lower one so i can park it in my garage). If you did replace the taller one for the lower profile unit how did you go about finding the equivalent, did you have to change anything inside, Did it hook up to your thermostat? Thank you.

I replaced my original Mach 8 (low profile) with same unit…the original control board stays on coach so it was an easy swap for me, you would have to check and see if that’s compatible in your situation I’m not sure…
