Your video came to the rescue again for me. I’m sitting here at the Grand Canyon, when I hear this awful noise from the A/C. Turned out my squirrel cage broke in half-dozen pieces. I watched this video months ago and ordered an extra cage to keep in the 33AA. I re-watched your video today and headed up to the roof. All fixed in a short time Thanks again for the instructions!

Thanks for the tutorial! We're adding one to our spare parts box! And making sure we have the t25, too! Safe and happy travels... 6 months to go to full time. Hope we run into each other on the road, too! Brenda & Lena

Hey Randy, we found a "suitable substitute" at Grainger. A bit smaller wheel but fits and runs like a champ! Part #4GMG2

Thanks for the info...we'll check it out and add it to our Chasing the Dream RV website Amazon parts list. 😉

Did you install a soft start on your AC ?
@ChasingtheDreamRV4 ай бұрын
@@TomUmberger-fx5gw no I did not, there is conflicting info that says they may actually cause your unit to fail prematurely

Randy, where'd you get the aluminum squirrel cage?
@ChasingtheDreamRV2 жыл бұрын
Still haven't scored an aluminum squirrel cage. We are looking into another possibility but it may be a little before it amounts to anything. Here's the link to the regular replacement in case you need it... Coleman 1472A1191 Wheel Package Blower: amzn.to/3w23yIE 👍✌

Hey Randy...thanks for your video....Did you end up install the aluminum wheel on your Mach 8 AC unit?? I just had a plastic wheel fail and looking to replace with aluminum. Will it last longer than the plastic? I would think so. Question....the measurements for the aluminum wheel is smaller than the plastic.....does that matter and would if effect the efficiency of the AC Unit??
@ChasingtheDreamRV Жыл бұрын
I’m still using plastic, have heard mixed reviews about the aluminum wheel drawing slightly more amperage with a bit less airflow, so I’ve been sticking with plastic for now until I can research more 👍🏻

@@ChasingtheDreamRV OK...thanks for the feed back. after watching your video I was able to find them at Grainger but it a little smaller than the plastic wheel and the airflow was less. I am going to return them and get the plastic ones and just keep them as clean as possible and hope it doesnt break every 3 months like in your case.

It’s hard to see AC when you stand in the sun and it’s in the shade.

I just lost one this morning running heat. I’ve been fairly lucky. Owned my Tiffin Bus for 6 years now and each of my 3 ACs have now lost a squirrel cage. Knock on wood.
