HOW TO INSTALL SIDE GLASS IN CLASSIC CAR / IMPALA / 1960 IMPALA / LOWRIDER / DIY / AUTO CITY CLASSIC

Welcome back!. This video is a long one but I tried to explain in detail the process for installing quarter window, door window and vent window glass in a classic car. This process can be used in a large variety of cars but is targeted more specifically towards 58-64 impala convertibles. Basic hand tools are used . The process is simple but does take some patience and requires some minor adjusting once installed. Enjoy!

That is a lot of work for sure, not the hardest but you have to slow down and figure out what is going on inside the door. I did come out nice. Now you have to put the top up and see how it looks.

Awesome video! I was blessed with good glass and frames on my 64 except a bubbling vent wich I ordered from the vendor you mentioned.how far back did you adress the vent mechanism repair? Keep it up you guys are no BS and moving at breakneck speed 👍🏽

When I’ve put windows in. I do it with the windows track rolled half down to get the rollers on the track easier

Hey, have a 62 and I'm struggling on the front vent windows. How does the glass come out of the frame? I have new rubber to put in.

Where do you get that channel that you were saying that gets rusted out for the van window?

Not sure. Maybe classic industy. It might be universal. Not sure. Mine was salvageable

Yo man you were talking about repairing the regulator on the vent window, you said (you have to make a little cap, just made it outta whatever.) What is whatever? Bro you gotta share! I have a 68 and my vent windows are a little tight if the casting breaks I'd like to know how to fix it. Please share.

I mis spoke. In the video I show on that I repaired using the piece that broke off. It was the other side that I repair using 18ga sheet metal. Just made a little cap and self tapped it to the body of the regulator. The problem is the casting breaks and then when u crank on the regulator the gear presses out and the regulator doesn't function

What's the difference between a 59 and 60? Trim and lights? Is sheetmetal the same between the two?

59 60 totally different car....share same parts like chassis, windshield, side glass, seats, top rack. And other small parts. Main difference is the price. 59s are about double value of a 60. (Up for debate of course)
