Hey guys i know you have been asking for a video on installing a line output converter so you can keep your factory stereo so in this on i use the sli4 and then i ended up switching it to a lc7i hope you enjoy the video on installing a amplifier or even a subwoofer in your jeep this should help with changing the speakers out as well and wiring up your stereo to the 4 channel amplifier jk

I just replaced the front factory speakers with a set of Kickers on my 2013 Wrangler. Your instructions were dead on and saved me a lot of extra removal work. Other videos showed you having to remove the whole dash and air bag. Again great video.

This was very helpful man, thank you. I had a 2011 2-door Wrangler that I had previously done an install in so the layout was very familiar, but I wasn't sure how much had changed or if anything was different in the 2015 4-door. The model year is so new it's tough to find people dissecting the entire vehicle like this - Crutchfield doesn't even have their master sheets available for the 2015 yet - so this was a great find. Thank you for sharing!

for the speaker connection, they make a wiring harness that is plug and play for all speaker brands in the aftermarket. no need to figure out colors any more because the wiring harness makes it super simple to connect like the OEM speakers.

I'm having trouble understanding the equipment needed to run the conversion from my stock unit (Uconnect 130S/RES) to a new Alpine pdx-v9 amp in my Wrangler Unlimited 2015. I was told use the PAC LP7-4 then use a sound processor (optional). Do you recommend something else? Is this what the LC7i does instead?

So, 2 questions...I recently bought a pair of Kicker coaxials KSC650 100w rms to replace my soundbar speakers and use with the stock stereo like you have....Is it NECESSARY to disconnect the stock tweeter since I'm using coaxials? Also, after installing these once, I was dissatisfied with the sound, as the bass sounded overbearing and too muddy (even when backed way down on the unit). Could this be because the stock head unit isn't pushing enough wattage to power these speakers optimally, or do I need to isolate the sound? Or possibly both? Thanks, man!
@ghostlyrich
@ghostlyrich 2 жыл бұрын
The stock speakers are brutal and cheap definitely get all the old stuff out of there the stock stuff is super cheaply made. The stock stereo also is really bad for roll off and sounded very muddy. A new stereo and speakers will make a huge difference

Questions, so you have to hook up a cross over? The factory cross over your showed on the tweeter is super small. I was planning on buying new tweeters and speaker for the front and splice the wire and hook up. Looks like adding cross over and amps is difficult.. After watching your video looks like if I remove the factory speakers the cross over goes with it? Will new speakers come with a new cross over? The 3 options below is what I am confused what to buy. I really do not want to install an amp. Not sure I know how too. I was really looking to plug and play. Can I buy the speakers on the botton and not use an amp? What option would be best for my 2015 Jeep Wrangler 4 door. I have the same radio you have Uconnect 130.
@hzryr61
@hzryr61 7 жыл бұрын
When you buy component speakers (ones that have separate tweeter and mid), most come with the crossover. You should be able to push some component sets with your factory head unit. Crutchfield is a fountain of knowledge and they have been around for a long time. They can help walk you thru anything you want to do.

Thanks, that alpine power pack looks perfect. I just watched a video and it looked plug and play on an alpine radio head unit. How would I go about hooking this up on my 15 wrangler 135 Connect? Think I can plug right into the back on the head unit? I could mount it behind the glove box.
@Somemjf

Question: online it says this about that amp. Note: The KTP-445A Power Pack won't work in systems where an outboard factory amplifier is still active. You'll have to bypass the factory amp if you want to upgrade your power with the KTP-445A. Does the 2015 wrangler have an amp that I will need to bypass? I have the reg system not the alpine.

Rustin Franklin stock wires were not rated for the rms of speakers I was running you can just running them back from your head unit but I find running your own wires makes for shorter runs then factory. The smaller the length the more resistance. The less actually getting to the speaker

why the hell would you set amp on hpf for components if they come w/ passive xovers? You're defeating the purpose, why use passive xover to begin with? HPF/LPF are there if you're running active set-up because unless you have a CC-1 or similar tool to pinpoint xover points, there is NO way in hell are you going to get that dial to 80hz. Just set to full range and passive xover will filter in the intended frequencies. LOC to stock radio is just a waste unless you use a DAC/DSP to clean up signal, SQ on stock radio is trash w/ pre out of voltage of less than a volt & to gain match the amp to that, your output is going to be so shitty that performance of aftermarket speakers vs stock would be minimal & setting gains the way you're doing doesn't guarantee a clip free signal. Damn shame you got 57k views because thats 57k ppl who've been misinformed
@hzryr61
@hzryr61 7 жыл бұрын
He is using the HPF to shield the mids from frequencies that are too low, and the x-over handles the transition from mids to tweets.
@dwizl7213
@dwizl7213 7 жыл бұрын
hzryr61 I understand that but they're full range components capable of playing down to 35hz, setting HPF at 80hz, you're cutting off the whole low end frequency. Even if you had subs to handle low end, you're stilling leaving a void for mid bass range
@ghostlyrich
@ghostlyrich 7 жыл бұрын
dwizl7213 do it which ever way you prefer man I have always set a cut off with hbf even guys running big money builds use a hbf cut off. seen alllooottt of people fry mids because they set there cross over wrong on the amp. it's why Steve Meade came out with the cross over tool as well as the dd1 to help people stop frying mids
