I recently purchased a 2013 Honda Shadow VT750RS with 400 miles on the odometer. The clutch reminded me of a 1998 V-Star 650 that I had at one time owned, the friction point was almost at the extreme end of the clutch lever travel when leaving the clutch out to move forward. Printing a copy of the Cleever Lever Installation picture I was able to bore a matching hole in the Honda Lever and cut the 1/8" wide channel for the cable on a milling machine. This modification moved the friction point towards the center of the travel. The clutch fully releases and there is no clutch slippage. I am 100% satisfied. There is no reason one couldn't make this modification to any motor bike. 'tis himself Kenny G

I also had problems with my V star and bought a new CLevver and it is MUCH better than the stock one ... Thanks so much Mike .. great video and info ... You are THE MAN !!!

So the hole drilled closer to the the pivot point is decreasing the travel distance of the cable, therefore increasing the arc of travel of the lever creating a larger friction zone for clutch engagement.

Thanks for the video even if it is 3 years old. Helped me make one from my old lever. Very easy with a drill press. So thank you very much. Someone (I won't mention any names) wants $75 for one he makes out of new $12 dollar levers.

@@MIKESGARAGE813 so, did you experience any negative side effecr after installing this lever? Did you also use the spring mod at the end where the cable connects to the clutch. I want to do this but some yamaha riders said it prematurely snapped their clutch cables.

@@MrYukon04 you can make your own with the stock lever, thats basically what the clevver was. While its great for short finger riders, I heard complaints about premature clutch cable wear and fraying due to this modification.
