your right i have a new weber smokey mountain 18 the door leaks like crazy it was bent i just got it how much for your setup that door is cheep metal i would like to buy it . I got the lavalock for my wsm it helped will try it out soon after i want to do a burn in with diamond lump charcol maybe 5 big peices plus i put a 3 inch thermo cant wait to cook on it...

do you have add the gasket on the back first before you mount the door

you do not, but it actually is a bit easier

I'm building a reverse offset smoker from a 55 gallon metal drum. 4.5" diameter chimney, about 24" high w an elbow. What size is optimal for the firebox? I was thinking of going 18"w x 24"h x 20"d (looking at it from the front). Thinking of putting the door on the right side. Thanks.

We do recommend you paint the door. We do not paint it so you can finish it whatever color you want.
