========This video has been re-edited and replaces the previous version======
In this video:
I will be installing The Pulsar LT/Inline Control Module on my 2019 Chevy Silverado V-8 5.3ltr truck and I will also be doing a demo drive after the installation.
There are 7 Feature Adjustment Modes and 1 Additional Feature that can be done on the fly.
My main reason for buying this device was to Disable the DFM and the Auto Start/Stop Technology that is currently on these 2019 to 2022 Silverado models.
There will be a 30 day and 6 month review. It has been 10 days since the install and I swear it feels like she has more power, I know it doesn't because that is not what The Pulsar LT does. Since the DFM is disabled my truck is now a full time V-8 and will no longer jump back and forth between being an 8 cylinder and going down to as low as a 1 cylinder engine. F$%K DFM......
+++I paid $433.00 but the regular price is up to $564.00.+++
+++Here is the link so you can check it out the specs at Edge Products+++

I just checked out that BOOST Product, looks nice and is quite a bit cheaper than the Pulsar Lt if you are looking to only disable the DFM or AFM. I will agree that the BOOST product is the way to go if someone is looking for a much easier and cost-effective solution as compared to the Pulsar LT. But with the Pulsar Lt there are other features that can be turned off (Start/Stop feature) or adjustments that can be made (tire size)/(axle-ratio)/(speed-limiter).

I like the idea of this device. What worries me is the unplugging and re plugging of the connectors and at some point the pin tension will loosen causing issues for the truck down the road. Just picked up my Chevy a week ago in Hemet CA. A nice 120 mile ride from Santa Clarita CA.
@HowtowithPaulHenderson

Basically you have to remove it every couple years when you get it smogged, at least for me in California. And as for the dealership it all depends when I'm taking it in for. But yes I see your points, I think as long as you're careful and pull the connection straight out and not wiggling back and forth hopefully there wouldn't be much of a problem down the road. But I think The benefit of having this outweighs the risk if there is any.

So far it is working flawless, no issues of any kind. The one thing I noticed is that my engine was consuming half a quart of oil every 6,000 MI prior to installing the Pulsar LT. I just did my first oil change after the installation about 6,500 plus miles later and it's not missing a drop. And my mileage is the same as I was prior to the installation.

Thanks Jeff, I can hear a slight difference on how it sounds while driving on the freeway, the biggest sound difference is when it's just idling in the driveway. I'm not sure why that is, I don't know how exactly the DFM works at idle. Someone left me a detailed comment saying at idle it should be running at full V8. why I don't hear that ticking noise once I installed the Pulsar LT and deactivated the dfm is a mystery to me. Whatever it is I'm definitely happy about it.
@HowtowithPaulHenderson
@HowtowithPaulHenderson 2 жыл бұрын
Good morning Jeff. Yesterday someone asked me a question on one of my Pulsar LT videos-does it sound different after the installation. So I thought about it I have a MagnaFlow muffler a cold air intake and the stillen cold air scoop so that will definitely make a difference in the sound of the engine. The only sound difference I could think of would be when I'm cruising down the freeway and all eight cylinders are in operation, compared to when there is just maybe two or three or four. so yes there will be a sound difference which isn't really much and probably not even worth mentioning. Although I still stand by that I don't have that ticking sound at idle once I installed the Pulsar LT.

Hey Paul. I bought my 2020 5.3 trail boss used from a dealership. Certified pre owned from a Chevy dealership. WITH THIS THING INSTALLED IN IT!! lol. Question… I need an oil change.. tires rotated and fluids checked. . Do I need to take it out? And do I absolutely need to remove the negative battery terminal? I didn’t get to install it so I’m gonna have to kinda wing it on the uninstall. Thanks for the great video. 👍

No you do not have to remove it for these services, but you will have to if they will be re-programming the OBD System for re-calls and most likely when it comes time to have the truck smogged. I have the 2019 and my first smog will not be due until maybe 2026 or 2027. I hope this helps

FYI. If you take your vehicle in to the dealership to have an oil change an alignment or anything that is non computer related, you can leave the Pulsar LT in. If you think they might be plugging anything into the OBD2 port you will need to uninstall the PULSAR LT or if you live in the great state of California when you go to have your every other year smog check you will need to remove it also.

so 1 year later, do you still like the pulsar lt.? I have heard on some forums that it can cause your truck to just shut off and die. But if you disconnect it and put truck bck to stock config, the truck starts and runs again. I was thinking maybe the components in it are cheap grade and after awhile the underhood high temps gets to it and makes it fail.

I just picked up one for my 2020 Silverado. I really only want to eliminate the 'auto-start-stop', the DFM and set the speed limiter. Regarding the throttle control, my LT does have a 'sport' and snow/ice' mode. I'll be curious what the Pulsar LT says when I leave it in 'Sport mode' before installing? Thanks for your video.
@HowtowithPaulHenderson
@HowtowithPaulHenderson 2 жыл бұрын
When you select sport mode all that does is tightens up the steering wheel and stays in gear a little bit longer before shifts to the next to give it that sportier feel. While in snow mode it softens to take off it probably reduces throttle responsiveness and I think it does something with the shifting. Now with the Pulsar LT throttle sensitivity set to three that is the perfect setting. four and five is a bit touchy. I did do a video that shows how to adjust the throttle sensitivity/responsiveness.

I did ask AAA since my truck is 2019 when do I have to get a smog she told me like 7 years until the first smog check. Even if it was every two years, sorry 2 years removing from the smog check. It is recommended that you remove it if you take it into the dealership not because you don't want them to know that you had it on there it's just that if they need to flash your computer for any reason that cannot be installed. Very simple to remove and there's no trace of it.

@HowtowithPaulHenderson
@HowtowithPaulHenderson 2 жыл бұрын
That doesn't mean you can't install it though, you will just have to remove it probably a week before. Reason why I say that is that when you disconnect the battery cable that should reset the computer back to factory specs, so now the computer has to learn all over again and I think it takes about a hundred miles. Otherwise when you go to have it smogged they'll know that it's been reset and not enough time has lapsed for the computer to relearn. That happened to be on my other Silverado. I personally think it's worth the time. As of today I think at least City highway and I lost about a mile a gallon but it's really hard to say I have a lead foot.
