Never lay two planks lengthways first. not unless there's a strait edge firmly on chalk line.use the edge of the chalk line not the middle of it , when setting the straight edge. First lay the first plank on rhe chalk line, second plank is half bond above the first plank , now third plank can now be fitted lenth wise to to the first. The fourth will go above the last plank. The more rows created the more tight the bond will between the rows of planks. I haven't noticed wether the ply-board were sealed with a primer . At best mix use 4 parts PVA glue to 1 part water mix. This will stop pressure sensitive adhesive loosing moisture to quickly. Otherwise its a good job .👍😁🫡

Hey! have you ever heard of laying down vinyl plank flooring like this without having to use glue or is that unheard of?
@thunts27742 жыл бұрын
I’ve seen it laid without glue, but then planks flop around and get gaps in between them so theirs no point. Theirs vinyl plank out there that snaps together like laminate, that doesn’t need glue though

karndene produce a loose lay plank 5mm thick x 250mm x 1000mm, just requires glueing at the edges with their tackifier or completely glued if needed. You can lay the whole floor dry and then pull up sections and glue them all very quickly.

@@thunts2774 So I’m currently lifting up my LVP due to I need my concrete slab about 920+ sq ft liquid leveled. I had foundation issues and had a co. fix the issue with steel piers inside my home so the patch concrete wasn’t smoothed out completely. I still have a small tilt on my slab but no much. What would you recommend if you were dealing with this issue? I’m lost on what floor to put down next but I’m not paying $3+ sq ft
@thunts27742 жыл бұрын
@@TXCAMSS1 if u don’t wanna put carpet down over rough concrete u can always use a concrete sander and get it decent enough to put whatever u want down. Should be able to rent them. We’ve never used the self leveling stuff cause we’ve never had to

How about installing in a bathroom with a shower? What happens if water is spilled on the floor? Does the glue act as a water proofer? Installing on a 2nd floor over plywood
@thunts27742 жыл бұрын
The planks are so tight together no water should fall between, the glue underneath would prob help yes
@MickeyMichaels3482 жыл бұрын
It would be best to seal the subfloor too before laying in bathrooms. PVA diluted with water 4 to 1.

Watched until you measured your cuts ,then cut it with a straight edge wtf ,good luck bro
@thunts27742 жыл бұрын
Cut them three different ways if u kept watching. Not like it matters when all the cuts are hidden
@ryanfindlay5992 жыл бұрын
@Thunts 27 apologies bro ,I never noticed the skirting boards were off ,so your right that it doesn't matter on the cuts .....we do things different here in Scotland but that's not saying we're right & your wrong ...at the end of the day ,if the job looks good & the client is happy then all good ✌️
