When doing this mod, does this void the warranty after on the Tesla?

It is 100% reversible. If Tesla is picky they can void the warranty on the specific components that the mod directly touches. (but you can always uninstall the mod first if you have problems in those areas).

So once this is installed- can anyone open the frunk just by pulling that emergency release cable at any time?

No, it only releases the tension of the auto-closing mechanism cable (if it failed to release), it does not unlock the latch.

Yesterday my friend complained about not having a power frunk on his Taycan. For a storage area the size of a shoe box. The Taycan has a frunk significantly smaller than the 911's trunk. The Taycan has a huge normal sized rear trunk. There's no reason people. No reason. Embrace the ability to interact with your car. I've had cars with auto closing doors and then never used them nor did I opt to choose that option again. If I'm too old and tired, yeah, I'll buy a luxury car with those options, but then I'm not sure I should be driving a car in that case. Added weight and complexity for what? Virtually nothing. If the car has a huge rear trunk and a tiny tiny front trunk, I don't want power on the front. It's also a safety hazard. I wouldn't want the front lid of my car accidentally popping off while driving 50 mph (as rare as the possibility is). That might be why no cars come with power front lids.

Excellent perspective, Mike! For me, I love using the frunk storage space, but closing it is usually some thing that my wife and I struggle with, because we have to be gentle and really careful where we put the pressure to close it. So this auto frunk solution really made us enjoy our Tesla much more. BUT I do see your point about car interaction, I also own a 1998 Acura NSX with a manual transmission, it is a different experience all together. 🤩
