+Jack Selair Thanks for watching Jack. The FuelPak is water resistant. However, if water gets into the factory connectors it can cause the FuelPak and possibly your ECU to short out. So I would suggest you tuck the connectors away as best you can that water is less likely to get at them.

Hi Guy, thanks a lot for the video, just a quick question : I already install the exhaust and Vo2 on my bolt but, what about the fuel pak, I mean Does the power difference huge? or only small difference?? thanks for your advice Laurent
@johnhart65684 жыл бұрын
V&H doesn't make this Fuelpak for the Bolt anymore and recommended buying DynoJet Power Commander V which I have. Now I need a detailed book on all the connectors to the engine so I know what I'm doing before taking the tank off. I haven't seen a video on installing a Power Commander on a Yamaha Bolt and I have an '18. Thanks, Eric. I bought the slip on and naked and will follow your install videos.

Hi John, pay a visit to the DynoJet website and click on the power commander v product link. Input your vehicle information (year/make/model) and you can download the installation instructions. I just took a look at them, they seem to be pretty straight forward. Thanks for watching.

Hello did u guys have any problems with the low fuel light flashing after install? Bike runs excellent but the low fuel light flashes a bit, pauses then flashes again and cycles again. Thanks for this amazing video. Really helped me out a lot.

None. Sound like it could be a wiring issue or something wasn't seated properly when re-connecting. Please give Vance and Hines a call to confirm.

I'll be hopefully doing this in a couple months this upcoming Spring.

Thank you for your inquiry Umut Can Mese. I would recommend that you remove the fuel pack all together and take the bike for a quick spin. How does it act now? - Kyle & the Chap Moto Team

Awesome video. I'm planning on installing this set of parts on my Bolt tomorrow and this cleared it up a bit. Next time you do a video, could you start zoomed out and zoom in on the parts in these really tight shots? It's kind of hard to see where you're digging around sometimes.

Can I install this product with out taking the whole tank off? Can I just raise the tank up?
@chaparralmotorsports9 жыл бұрын
Hi David, it may be possible to install the Fuel Pak without taking the tank off, however I think you'll spend more time trying to get at the fuel injector fittings, and trying to route the Fuel pak wiring cleanly than it would take to remove the tank. The tank is really easy to remove and only takes about 10 min (probably 5 min once you've done it a couple times). Just watch the video a couple times, i covered everything that needs to be disconnected. Thanks, --Eric

Hi Eric, I just installed the slip on, air filter and the fuelpak but I feel the bike runs lean. Pops a lot while decelerating. My fuelpak instruction that came with my fuelpak says to set the fuelpak without the engine on but you did it with it on. And my code that I got from v & h was fp4950. What code did u use for this setup? Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

+Peter Wong Hi Peter, thanks for watching the video. It's been a while since we shot that video, so I don't remember exactly what the map code was. But I just went to the V&H website and put in all the information for that Bolt setup in the video (V&H slip on, high flow filter, fuel pak etc) and it gave map code FP4949. What year/make/model bike do you have and what components did you install? Which FuelPak model are you using? Also the instructions we had stated to have the bike running when programming the map, not sure if maybe things have changed or if its different for the FuelPak/bike you are using?

+Chaparral Motorsports Hi Eric, Thanks for taking the time to reply. I have a Yamaha Bolt which i bought 2 months back. I believe its still the same model as the 2014 as they only upgraded the colour scheme for the 2015 and 2016 models. I have the exact setup as the bolt in your video did. A Vance & Hines Competition Slip On, V02 Naked Air Intake & an LCD Fuelpak. I have already tried FP4949 as well but felt that on the higher rpm's, the bike loses power and the exhaust sounds flat and cracked. I am now back on FP4950 but tweaked the fuelpak so that the bike runs a little bit richer.
@Ma6roshi238 жыл бұрын
+Peter Wong facing the same issue, 4949 didnt work well , super lean as i have to rev it few times to keep it running, so iv tunned it with 4950 map, but the mode 52 should read 0 while idling, mine read 15, and 94 when throttle full open..
@Fr34k5h0w8 жыл бұрын
+Ma6roshi23 I'm using 4950 now. At mode 52, it's normal, 0 while full twist of throttle gives me 99. But still, the bike is lean n pops a lot on deceleration. I would love to call up Vance and Hines myself but I'm from Asia. It would cost a bomb to call them and also the different time zones as well. Thinking about throwing the fuelpak out n going with a pc v.

How did you get the fuel out of the tank? Just get it low by riding with the fuel light on?
@chaparralmotorsports8 жыл бұрын
+Tom Fellows Hi Tom! It isn't completely necessary to fully drain the tank, we started this project with little fuel. However, if you follow the steps in the very beginning of the tank removal process, have a something to drain the fuel in as it will come out of the lines. You shouldn't lose too much, maybe about 1/4 cup.
