How to install Wheel Studs on a BMW E36

Are you just as tired as I am of changing wheels and tires with those darn wheel bolts? Well today I am doing a wheel stud conversion so we can finally change our wheels and tires quickly and hassle free. Since our BMW is an occasional drift car, this conversion will make changing tires at the track a breeze.

Dont use the oem jack its unsafe install jack pads then jack it up from the subframe and put the jack stands under the pads.

Great video but I have a real problem. I have gone through two Allen 5mm sockets, the second was an impact (cheap) socket and have not gotten past the first stud, it breaks right off before I reach 100 ft/lbs. What kind of socket did you use? Thanks

Well the stud itself is only torqued to around 25ft lbs with blue Locktite, the lug nut itself gets torqued to 90 ft lbs. (the torque value may vary depending on the brands of studs and lugs). But it sounds like you are over torquing the stud.

I believe they were 78 or 80mm if I remember correctly. They were a little long and I wasn’t able to put my center caps on 😅 still great studs 👍🏻
