Blinds Used in This Video: homedepot.sjv.io/DZ19n
Overview of how to measure, select, and install cordless vinyl blinds. Specifically the blinds featured are 1 inch cordless vinyl blinds made by Hampton Bay and purchased from Home Depot. I demonstrate an inside mount install and this project is approachable no matter your skill level. I highly recommend installing your own blinds opposed to hiring it out as you can easily save 50% - 75% and usually knock it out inside 1 day.
Good Luck on your project!

I am glad I watched your vid. This is the second one I have watched. I actually thought that the big end went on the bottom. The hardware does -- sort of -- snap on the bottom end if you were to try to put it on upside down. I was not happy with it and I was thinking that it isn't snapping in good enough and that it will fall down when pulling the blinds down. I also questioned why the hardware was shaped the way it was. So don't assume all of us dummies know which end goes up for next time!

I don't know if any of you will know the answer. How do you install mini blinds on Renewal by Anderson windows ? I want them inside like my old window had. They apparently say you void the warranty on the window if you put any holes in the frame. Or whatever the exact term is. My windows are small that need the inside mounted blinds. It's a pain that I may not be able to have custom ordered blinds put back up.

Still having trouble snapping the blind in the bracket. I screwed the bracket just above the window casing on the wall (for outside installation). I think the little PRESS gadget can't move since it's pressed on the top of the casing, so tomorrow I'll try to install on the casing and see if that works? Can you visualize what I'm talking about?
@EverydayHomeRepairs
@EverydayHomeRepairs 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Shirley, I can and understand what you are describing. Those brackets are designed for both inside and outside mount so if mounted correctly the tab with "PRESS" should be able to flex so it can click on the top rail. It can take some force to get the tab to move around the notch in the top rail. You need to have both sides lined up at the same time to ensure you aren't binding the bracket and then making it harder to attach. If you want to you can find my page on facebook under the same name and we can dive a bit deeper by sending me a message and even pictures.

How come everytime I bring down the blinds it keeps falling I’m I doing something wrong ?
@EverydayHomeRepairs
@EverydayHomeRepairs 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Jose, is the bracket “snapping” when you push the head rail into the bracket? The snap indicates the blind head rail is secured to the bracket. Sometimes if the bracket isn’t fully secure (no snap) it will hold the blind up but will fall when you pull the blind down.

How do you remove them
@EverydayHomeRepairs
@EverydayHomeRepairs 4 жыл бұрын
If you have the same brand of blinds there is a little metal taboo the bracket located at the lower back corner of the blind head rail (top part of the blind). All you have to do is hold the head rail and press the tab to release the blind. Might take a little wiggling but should be pretty easy to remove.

You forgot to tell people if there's no wood and you have sheetrock you should use plugs first because if you just put screws into sheetrock you try to put that blind then it's going to rip that bracket right out I like the old-fashioned end brackets is so much easier and better these other brackets you have to be pretty strong to to push them in

@@EverydayHomeRepairs I have spent more than 20 minutes. The directions that came with the Home Depot blinds are worthless when it comes to trying to put that top of the blinds into the brackets. My window needed 54" width so I installed 3 brackets without a problem. The problem was with clipping them into those brackets. I didn't know that the front needed to go in first because the directions made it sound like it had to go into the back first and then trying to get the front to clip in under the front of the blinds was not happening.

To Supreme and Everyday Home Repairs: Another major transitional idea needed, eh? To save *low-IQ* children's lives by forcing cordless blinds upon the public. Soon, they will devise another idea -- to save us from our cats! -------------------------- They could and should bring back the corded ones -- and customers' cats can have fun with his created labyrinthine of curling up contiguously to a contraption cats could consider. No resurrection for pets.

Just so you know, you can't position brackets arbitrarily on all types. I watched this and had to take them down right after. These damn things are so horribly engineered. I don't understand how they came to this mounting solution.

you are installing under ideal conditions. i am installing outside the frame and their is no snap when you press them in place. the blinds will not set flat against the wall. waste of money. will go back to the corded type.

I have found it tough to find corded blinds in the bast year or 2. Seems like most brands made a complete switch to cordless.

If you do quality work I am sure you will have more than enough work for years to come. I type this while sitting in a rehab project getting ready to hang blinds so not sure I am the enemy you are looking for.
