Ive been tinkering with Win11 today for about an hour and Im not ashamed to say I was quite impressed. Aye there are some bits which I think need some work but I think that Microsoft will be looking at some of the comments from the various YT videos and making changes to suit. Nice bit of free public beta testing for Microsoft, dont blame them for "leaking" the ISO. Thanks for making the video, Mike and Kath :)

yeah i am in the same boat although it is largely windows 10 there are some tweaks to the look and feel that make it seems fresher and snappy, i like that a lot

I'm opposite of Bob. While I don't think there's anything too bad about it, Windows 11 doesn't strike me as anything special at all. But it's just a "leak" and I'm sure changes will be made as they collect opinions from the masses. Lookin good this vid Mike, I like when the sunlight or whatever it is makes your set look brighter (I still can't stand the music hehe).

Thank you for this "how-to" install the pre-beta of Windows 11, Mike & Kath. Technical question: Will it be strictly necesasary to have the "security device suppport" always on in BIOS settings to install Windows 11? If it's so, severeal old devices won't work (EX: a Lenovo Ideapad 310, it doesn't recognize a USB with Windows installer based on RUFUS). I'm starting to worry about it.

i think the TPM might just be a DEV thing right now, i would expect any UEFI system should be able to install the final retail versions

Great intro to new Win11 Mike. Saw on discord chat about subject but hadnt realised available for all to try. Is this available from M/Soft site as Win10 is? You mention most apps seem to be working but as you loaded on blank storage would it be fair to say this should run alongside rather than replace our existing OS ie Win10? Thanks for informative review as always, instills confidence in us "er me" novices lol wish we had this access to info with win 3.0/95/98!! haha stay safe everyone👍

it is currently a leaked ISO or image so not available from the MS sites or Windows Update. there are some links to where it can be downloaded in the video description. And also GA on discord had some links to other download sites. at the moment depending on the software and apps you might be running it is safer to run this as a separate install rather than an upgrade and consider it very much a beta at best right now, although it does seem very stable and doesn't appear to have any issues that i have seen so far.

Looks interesting. I've been checking as to whether you get a free upgrade, if you already have an active Windows 10 licence? It appears you do, but don't quote me on that! 😉 My present P.C. came with Windows 10, can't believe it's been 6 years. So, if the above is true, I'm happy to wait a while longer to get the "official" upgrade.

i think it will most likely be a free upgrade from 10 or maybe even 8 and 8.1, time will tell, roll on the 24th or whenever the announcement is

Is there a way we can get the start bar to the left hand side again? The whole point of that was it helped people with vision impairment like myself who loose the mouse we can simple drag it to the corner and have it on the start menu this new design is nice dont get me wrong but highly inefficient!

You can get it back to the left hand side again but only when windows 11 has been activated with a key

It's one of those "Personalization" options that is locked down when windows is running non Activated. Along with changing the wallpaper, or the title bar colour themes.

Microsoft will be sh*tting themselves... Windows 98 good, ME bad, XP good, Vista bad, 7 good, 8 bad, 10 good.... It's not looking hopeful for 11, though it's really the Windows 10 anniversary of the anniversary of the Creators update edition
