Actually if you use rufus and use the download option it has to ability to remove all checks and legally 100% activate from upgrading from windows 10 to windows 11 and the system requirements are stupid because windows 11 is basically windows 10 with a new start menu and if you are a gamer please listen windows 11 hates VR so if you have any VR headsets and want to upgrade wait unless you want stuttering video

Great Video Rich! It upsets me that MS would rigidly enforce this when really it could be done under a caveat-basis! Our landfill/recycle centers don't need more computer cardcases to process. Clean Install or Upgrade ?
@zoomosis
@zoomosis 2 жыл бұрын
The oldest system I've had Windows 11 running was on an AMD Athlon II X2 255 from 2010. I did a clean install using DISM /Apply-Image, a workaround that doesn't ask any questions or check system requirements. You can't upgrade an existing Windows 10 installation that way though, so this video shows that it's not impossible to do an upgrade on unsupported hardware even if there are more steps involved.

Windows terminal missing is actually quite common with in-place upgrades, even on supported hardware, I've got a 3950x system that upgraded itself to windows 11 Pro and windows terminal did not work. Remember, if you are fine with wiping everything out, or if you have a boot drive, and a data drive, you can generally just do a fresh install windows 11 from an un-modified ISO, as long as your computer has 2 threads, 4GB of RAM, and i think an 80GB HDD? I have windows 11 on an IBM Thinkpad X60 Tablet which originally shipped with Windows XP, but because it has an early 64 bit Core Duo with 4GB of RAM(only 3GB usable) windows 11 just installed without issue, now getting drivers to work was harder than expected, normally XP drivers just worked in windows 10, but with windows 11 i had some issues with the pen-touch screen and a few other things that i dont remember off the top of my head

The question many of us have and have yet to see anyone really explain it is what exactly makes Windows 11 so much better than Windows 10 that we should even bother upgrading? It requires all this BS just to install it and all its other BS hardware requirements and from what I have seen does not really offer anything substantial to justify going through the pain to upgrade! Seems to me the reason no one is doing a side by side comparison is because there really isnt one! So I ask you CyberCPU Tech, what the hell is so damn special with Windows 11 that would compel me to suffer the installation of it?

Windows 11 is much better than Windows 10 for the only reason that it has an expiry date of 2031 while Windows 10 will expire in 2025. That is why one should change, unless you are keen to replace computers that work well just to follow the last computer trend. Besides everything that runs on Windows 10 will run on 11, just the desktop enviroment is different, as like many linux distros differ one from another.

Really interesting, I have many Virtual Machines on a 4 years old Double Socket server that has CPUs not supported and this option may make me save a lot of money! I have one question: what about Windows Updates? Works well ? Maybe in the future some update may lock your installation because of some incompatibility check ? I think this issue is quite difficult to answer and may happend to be a big problem. What's your opinion ?

It's been known for a while that pretty much anything dual core and up will run Windows 11. I've had it running on a 12 year old machine since they announced it. Of course many older computers will work better under W10 than W11. And Microsoft will supposedly put a watermark on the desktop of unsupported computers in a future update.

Ya.... I think I'll avoid any game or "anti-cheat" that requires kernel level access. I have little faith in these sickening publishers to begin with, but if their security is ever exploited, I can imagine the s**t show that would come of having kernel level access in their game, being exposed. "Ring 0 of fire: Does Riot Games’ new anti-cheat measure go too far?" Yes. Yes, it does.

*I do hope that you're right (🤞🙏) about MicroSuck, er I mean Soft to lower the system requirements before the end of Windows 10 support on Oct 2025. There's practically no reason to disregard slightly older CPUs like 6th and 7th gen especially since these PCs aren't exactly cheap nor are they Potatoes. I actually run an I5 6600K with GTX 1060 6Gb and 16Gb of RAM and have no problem running any latest software available. And if not for that effing TPM 2, I clearly see no problem why I can't run Win 11*

I took my computer to a store to be repaired yesterday, and the guy who fixed it told me about this. I would love the give this a try, but both of my computers have a lot of use. My laptop can't be upgraded because of no TPM 2.0 and AMD Radeon R4 isn't supported. I get that having Win 11 on older hardware that's 10 years+ could cause issues, as this is very much the case with my PC (APU and no TPM 2.0). But for a laptop/machine that is only 3 years old, I find it absolutely staggering.
