hi, thanks for sharing, really helpful, I'm curious, does the ring screw into the actual window frame to clamp it tight? if so, I don't see any holes in the frame that you're screwing into? Do you just force the screws into the frame or did you pre-drill some pilot holes? What thickness of wall are these made for?
@f48films333 жыл бұрын
Yes, and there are screw holes.👍. Sorry for the late reply

Trace around the outside or inside?
@davidschlarp1606 Жыл бұрын
There are 3 potential things to outline in the trim ring. Idk why people just say "trace it out and cut" and never actually show what to trace. I'm someone has tra ed the outside and cut a home to big in their trailer going off of these videos

It looks like the weep holes are on the top, should be on the bottom right?
@f48films334 жыл бұрын
No the weep holes are on the bottom. You put plugs in the top. This way you can pick how you want the slide. Weep holes are both top and bottom. The windows come with the plugs👍 Yes the unplugged weep holes go on the bottom

The window thickness was 2” exactly or was it 2-3/16”? Awesome video, thanks.
@f48films333 жыл бұрын
I believe it was 2-3/16”. I would have to pull the window out to be 100. I do think it was the 2-3/16

I got the 12x22 window from the same company. I am unclear what the screws screw into to tighten the two parts together. Mine did not have any directions.
@superdavedfw4 жыл бұрын
Me too. I'm unclear. I got my window from "Factory RV". Same concept with a window ring. I'm assuming you're screwing around the outer part of the window (not into it) and with the rough opening of the rv window opening compressing or wedging it in place for a tight fit.
@superdavedfw4 жыл бұрын
I told you wrong. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gH7VZnqBf8mhmac This video at 9:00 shows pre-drilling the holes into a groove around the window Yep. I'm sitting here watching KZbin with an rv window in my lap

Is the plywood and outer skin holding the weight of the window? Is the window attached to a vertical stud? Did you weld in any horizontal supports? Lastly , is there some flexibility in the window frame, in terms of the thickness related to the wall thickness? Great video. Thank you.
@f48films335 жыл бұрын
The plywood and outer skin is holding the weight of the window. Very snug and solid. No supports or welding needed and not connected to a vertical stud. The windows are very light as well. There is a bit of flexibility on thickness although the skin, insulation and plywood is close to max thickness for the windows.

Do you have any recommendations on changing one rear swinging door to two rear doors like yours?
@f48films334 жыл бұрын
I would maximize the single Door and keep it. Is it like a ramp door? If so all good just insulate and maximize its use. Not worth changing it in my opinion.

What size window?
@orlandoflores60374 жыл бұрын
I’m planning on converting a trailer to a camper, so I’m trying to find answers to questions that I know I’ll have later. Does the thickness of the wall affect the installation of this particular window?
@f48films334 жыл бұрын
I believe there is a couple different sizes you can get. You will need to figure your wall thickness as it does matter.

How do I tell if I need the 1 1/2" or 2" thick window ?
@f48films334 жыл бұрын
Once you remove the inside panel I would measure the ribs, outside skin and inside paneling this should give you a accurate measurement as to what size. If I were to guess you would be after the 2” most of the time. Hope this helps out.

Isn’t the window upside down so the drain holes should be on bottom
@f48films334 жыл бұрын
There are drain holes with rubber plugs both top and bottom. You can set the window in so it opens how you like. Once you do this you remove the rubber plugs on the bottom. If they didn’t do this the windows would open opposite of each other.
