I found easier to screw on the puck after I install the fairings, because to fairing requires a sliding back action, which kind of gets imposed by the puck if it was already installed.

@TSTindustries Жыл бұрын
The drive size should be appropriate for the socket drive size that you are using. The torque range should be such that the torque value needed to achieve is somewhere in the range that the wrench can do.

Great video once again! Just ordered these up today. In this vid you mention removing the plastic vent looking piece due to a little interference but also stated it was possible to trim/cut that same insert piece if you wanted to keep it. In the case that you would like to keep the piece installed how much of the insert is needed to be removed to have it all fit nicely? Any chance you tested it and maybe have a picture of the insert after trimming/cutting? Thanks in advance!! Love your products, keep up the great work!
@TSTindustries4 жыл бұрын
This was hypothesized but not tried. At our place we believe in taking off as much unnecessary weight as possible. This inner trim piece had no function so we were ok ditching it. We did look it over carefully and determined that if someone is crafty and diligent they can trim carefully and get that back in there. For us though that's just less weight on the bike to force side to side on turns.
@hullkid234 жыл бұрын
TSTindustries I fully understand that about cutting weight wherever possible! I will most likely just ditch it as you guys did, was just curious how involved it would be to trim the piece since it was mentioned. Thanks for the response! Excited to get my order delivered and add some more of your great products to my ride😎🇺🇸

So here's a slight out of context query. Plz plz respond. Here in India we have 2015 model and not the latest one, so my question is, can I install fairings, new gas tank cover (over the old tank) , black plastic plate that connects from below the seat to the fairings, entireheadlight set including the instrument cluster of the the new R3, 2019 model on to the old 2015 model R3? (Considering the fact that the frame of both the models are same and the new fairings are new just from headlights to the mid of the bike and not all over to the tail section)
@TSTindustries4 жыл бұрын
It would not be all that easy. The tank cover from the new bike has different fastening method. You would need to also get the tank itself transplanted. Then there is the issue of the new cluster needing slightly different wiring I believe...I am not entirely sure on this but I think this is the case, especially if your old bike ECU part number starts with 2MS and the bike being transplanted from is B02. The front fairing stay is also different between the two bikes and the new cluster mounts to the new one but not readily to the old one. It is all doable, but it is just a matter of how much effort and money you want to put in.

Hi! I was wondering if the old version sliders would work on the 2019 model provided that the internal splitter ( as mentioned at 8:02 ) was removed? And also, would it work on the 2019 model without those brackets? ( as mentioned at 16:40 )
@TSTindustries4 жыл бұрын
The old version sliders work on the 2019 if you are running race bodywork. Otherwise you are stuck with the kit we came up with specifically for 2019, and best with ditching the internal splitters.

Thats cool. Maybe get yourself some engine case sliders so that you dont run the risk of getting debris in motor through cracked cases in a crash. You will sacrifice other components by not having frame sliders but the most expensive component will be protected. We manufacture some. There also are other brand available on the market too.

Hello. It its ok to change the rear tire 140 to 170 or 190??
@TSTindustries4 жыл бұрын
Even if you fit a tire that wide on this bike without rubbing other components you will be destroying the dynamics of the bike. There is a reason that throughout our R3 race program we stuck to 140, 150, and sometimes (although rarely) 160.

think my dealer bough the yamaha ones that go on the crank shaft, kinda mad. So i'll take the $$ hit and buy these cause these wont rip my case off if i fall and aren't some plastic yamaha. the r3 def has no options but you guys seem to make a lot of stuff for the new r3s which is nice. I actually dropped mine 3weeks into owning it and scuffed the fairing you are taking off for this job bought a new one apparently only 25$ lol.
@TSTindustries4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this message. Some of those fairings aren't very expensive, but frame sliders' main purpose is not fairing protection. They are supposed to mitigate the extents of damage in a crash progressively. You lay it down in your driveway then yes, they should protect some of the fairings. You crash at any medium+ speed then they will help keep your crank cases from grinding through and letting debris inside the motor, while minimizing damage to some other areas. If you crash at any significant speed they are designed to take and absorb the first impact and help to start the slide on a consumable surface, then crack off to not propagate crash forces into the frame. This formula for our design is derived from many years of product development along with on and off track testing. I am glad that you are taking a jump over to our components. I have one favor to ask. We are trying to keep our content and comments clean for all kinds of people to enjoy. Would you please edit your comment and take out the bad language? Thanks.

@@TSTindustries done, do you know when you get the street ones back in stock? I mean yeah the plastic is a lot cheaper than I thought for sure was 120 for the fairing at the turn signal and both tank plastics. Thought it'd be more

Isnt the point of having a slider is to protect the fairings and frame? Why would you drill onto it? Just my opinion.
@TSTindustries4 жыл бұрын
I think you are misinformed about the primary function of frame sliders. They are meant for protecting the vital components of the motorcycle that are very expensive to fix. Picture crashing at 60 miles per hour. Scenario 1...you do not have frame sliders on. You thrash the entire side of the bike, possibly grind down engine cases straight through or they shatter from impact. Then you have debris in your engine, oil all over the surface you crashed on. If that is at the track you just ruined the day for every other participant. Scenario 2...you do have properly designed and mounted frame sliders. The frame slider takes the first impact, absorbs some of the crash energy, and provides a consumable surface for your bike to slide on. You are still damaging a lot of the fairings, controls, etc. because you just sustained a fast crash. The sliders will however cut down on repair time and cost. We have been using this technology for years in our racing efforts and I have not had one crash where having the sliders made the situation worse. In fact proper crash protection components kept me racing more because after a crash we were able to rebuild the bike fast and still make later races. There are some companies that make no cut sliders that protect the bike from static drops and low speed crashes, but they do not perform well in fast crashes. Fast crashes are where you sustain the most damage to the bike so this is the scenario that we design for. I once had a 130mph crash in Daytona fighting for 3rd position in a Supersport1000 race. The bike got pretty mangled but we rebuilt it pretty quick because our crash protection components did their job. We have some videos illustrating some of what I am describing here. Have a look: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmWVnp6BZbWdZ9U kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJKuoZyHfLerjrM kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIbThZatnNmjo9U kzbin.info/www/bejne/aX7Ci4GcpLSVgJo

They're called frame sliders not fairing sliders. Plastics are cheap and replaceable but your engine components and frame are not so easily replaced. With this item mounted your bike will be able to have something absorb some energy from impact and because they are delving they will get ground down at a slow rate but dissipate the energy. Think whipping a tennis ball at a fat person's stomach vs a skinny person's stomach. Who gets hurt more. The one without the fat. This is an absorbance product. No disrespect but you need to do a little more Google homework
