Looks great but the inconsistent finish either the side of the door would bug me. In my opinion, it would be better to start above the door, positioning the panel so that the panels either side of the door required the same amount trimmed off.

There is a number of different ways you can inline your cuts to, its just about working out what's best for your own areas

Love your work, great videos & time taken to explain in detail. Is it possible to show a diy video making the hidden door using 12x12 3D wall panels? Also, i thought i might purchase wood to cover the door & then apply the panels so its more sturdy? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks a bunch

Is it possible to built a secret door like in your other video where you cannot see it at all. In this version with the door on the opposite side i do not like the offset, but would it be possible to somehow "fill" this cap so that the panels can continue seamlessly on the door?

Yes it is, you could always move your door forward and rescrew the hinges to make it fit seamlessly
