What would you tape it with. That's what I'm doing, I was considering using ice and water shield, cutting strips into 8" pieces, cheaper thing I could think of. BTW, the insulation board I have is foil faced on both sides.

Cool idea. We’re looking at modifying this a bit and fabricating roof panels that will skip in in between our trusses and our metal roof. 👍🏻🤜🏻👉🏻✌🏻

That will be helpful in both summer and winter, and it even brightens up the shop. It looks great guys, thanks for having us over, be well, and God bless.

Love the thin strips to create an air gap. I’ll use that for my hangar. Facing the reflective side toward the sun with an air gap will keep heat out. Shouldn’t it face in when used in a predominantly cold climate?

I love using this stuff. 2" is R13 but is very expensive. two - 1" sheets is just about the same R value and is cheaper in my area.

Try using a Hot Knife. Cuts through like butter and leaves NO mess. I do insulation for a living

Holds the heat in winter and helps keep summer tolerable. No building anywhere should be without it. I am getting more and more favorable to the closed cell spray on foam. Pretty inexpensive in the long run eh. Thanks bud. You are always heading in the right direction eh. Doin it right eh !

Looks good Kevin, Julie. Now I need to turn my insulation around so the foil is out :) Another suggestion instead of that glue, how about just sticking toothpicks through it to hold it in place?

Which way the foil goes would depend on your climate?

Did you use anything to adhere the foam board to the metal siding or just wedge in? Thanks in advance.

Hi Kevin, looks great I plan on doing my pole barn as well. Wondering if you purchased your foam board from Lowes. Been looking at other foam boards from other box stores and none seem to be that high In R-Value. Thanks

What are the advantages of using the foam board insulation instead of fiberglass? Which provides better noise reduction?
@Robinson-Homestead
@Robinson-Homestead 2 жыл бұрын
We used it because the walls were to thin for regular insulation

That might be okay but a chargeable fillet fish knife is like butter compared to that saw knife

Wont you get condensation in the air space between the foil and outside metal wall?
@stephensimpson5283
@stephensimpson5283 3 жыл бұрын
I doubt it. With the air gap he created and the gaps between the shed wall and timber, there will be plenty of air moving. I’ve done the same with my workshop I. Qld Australia (very humid) and have no problems. This will work a treat. Mine made a massive difference to the heat inside.
