Thank you! It's heartbreaking to hear Jung aficionados apply the "anima" to being transgender with gender dysphoria. The anima is a separate quantity which may partly inform the way identity manifests, as in patterning how i might dress and the aesthetic i adopt can only be a f(x) of my experience with other women respected from the past. GID is not sone inverted anima, as classically that would lead to perpetual moody disposition, as expressed in a 46XY person. Thus, while it is possible to be a trans woman with a personality beset by the anima+/- devouring mother archetype, that is still something that manifests in "cis" males, and you dobt see them questioning their gender. Its unfair to Jung to shoe horn his ideas into a modern context, but if he had cause to reflect, he would likely say the "gender of the soul" is semi variable and not associated with gender identity.

Interesting thoughts. I would suggest that a transgender woman could not have a repressed anima if they are a woman - they would have an unconscious animus. The soul-image compensates for the conscious attitude, so whatever the conscious gender identification is, the counter-attitude is unconscious.

I'm dumb when it comes to big words, so correct me if I'm wrong please. So would a macho man who has trouble being vulnerable or open, who sees feelings and emotions as a weakness be man who's at odds his Anima or Animus? Or am I way off? @@mindofnous
