A game like Magic Maze or Mechs vs Minions use a listed sequence of rule introductions. The first game is not rules-heavy. The next game has one more rule, etc. Magic Maze will go several rounds back-to-back. Mechs vs Minions will go another round some other day. Such games are designed with teaching/learning in mind. They leave you thinking: What's next? When can we play again?

What an excellent point that we completely overlooked. In 2019, I started a game group by playing Legends of Andor. It is structured just like you described. We played all five legends before we branched out and began playing different games. That structure was a significant aide to help my new-to-games friends acclimate to learning more complex games.
