How to Jailbreak Your PS3 on Firmware 4.90 or Lower with PS3 Toolset!

PS3 Toolset makes Jailbreaking a PS3 way easier than ever before! If you have a compatible PlayStation 3 on firmware 4.90 or lower, you can easily jailbreak your PS3 using only software, anyone with a compatible PS3 can patch their console and install Custom Firmware (CFW) with this Process.
In order to do all of this you MUST have a compatible PS3. All Fat/Phat models work! If you want to perform this on a Slim console, 20XX and 21XX models are all compatible. 25XX models that have a 3.56 or lower minimum firmware version will work, anything showing a higher firmware will not work. PLEASE NOTE ANY PS3 MODEL HIGHER THAN 25XX WILL NOT WORK! This includes newer Slim (30XX) models and all Super Slim models.

Hi Have you tried loading that page on your pc ? It is loading ok with me Try another site to see if your ps3 is online Check spelling and spacing of the url Good luck

it doesn't even let me update "No applicable update data was found" even in safe mode the usb is formatted in the right way the model is CECH_2004A firmware version is 4.87

Have you labeled the folders to the correct names ? And the update file to the correct name ?

So USB should be formatted to fat32 Then put a file on it called PS4 Then go inside that folder and make a new one UPDATE then put your custom firmware in that and name it PS4UPDATE.PUP Think that’s the format it’s looking for Good luck

Using a PC or Mac, create a folder named "PS4" on a USB drive formatted as FAT32 or exFAT. Inside that folder, create another folder named "UPDATE". Download the custom firmware file and save it in the "UPDATE" folder. Save the file as "PS4UPDATE.PUP". That’s the procedure for PS4 update via usb Try another download of the custom firmware Good luck

If the ps3 does not see the CFW for the update then the jailbreak has not worked do you see a green tick on the system manager ? Have all the jailbreak steps completed successfully?

@@TheVetUk yes, I managed to figure it out through trial and error. The file was one the stick but for some reason it was too deep in the file for it to read so I just moved the .pup file into the USB direct and it worked. Green check and multi man and web man are loaded now.

@@TheVetUk now that I have had a full day with it in ps2 I am having no issues ripping my disks onto the console. But ps1 is a different story. Had croc rip fine, but as soon as I try Spyro 2, or Bugs Bunny travel in time, It freezes. Any possible answer there?? I am using the make iso option in multiman. I hear it might be better to just dump my games on PC, then use filezilla to transfer the files, or just use a USB to transfer. Any thoughts on that too?

I do everything on PC then FTP over to the PS3 and that works for me 👍

Hi if you have a red X in the system manager then your console is either above the minimum firmware or the wrong model so you can not jailbreak this console you would have to use Hen lite
