Hello folks! This week we're coming at you from the waters of the Detroit River. We've baited up with the brand new Flexi-Jigs loaded with finesse-fish, and we jig up a nice day's catch of walleye!
We show you the set up we're using, and just how this new Flexi-Jig manages to get us perfect hooksets all the time.
It was a noisy day on the Detroit River, but jigged up those freshwater water sure made it worth it!
As always good luck, and good fishin'!
Ivo

In this walleye episode, I was using 10 lb braided line (or 20 lb - can't recall exactly) and 10 lb fluorocarbon leader. Medium/heavy action one piece rod and used a palomar knot to tie on my flexi jig :)

Hi Thomas - great to hear from you and thanks for being a fan :) When a channel catfish clamps down on your finger, you shouldn't get any nasty cuts, as long as you don't try to pull your fingers out - it's best to have him open his mouth and then take your fingers out. We have a catfish video in edit, to be released in a few weeks and in it, Antonio gets his fingers stuck in a channel catfish's mouth - it's pretty funny, you'll like the video :)

Can't promise anything but I can give you a tip. Try casting a top water plug or silver spoon which will attract hungry blues. You may have to cast farther depending on water depth. Keep trying along the beach to increase your chances of getting a hit. Once you catch one, fish that area thoroughly. Good luck! :)

Hi Vaughn - actually, all 4 colors will work great for you and I would rig them with a night crawler. If I had to chose one color it would be silver or gold, but I really like the leading pearl chartreuse in stained water and the green mackerel is also an excellent color, especially on Lake Erie. Another great trailer to use are leeches if you can get them :)

As a general rule, use silver based lures in clear water or on sunny days and use gold based lures on dark days or in stained water....dark days use dark colors, bright days use bright colors :)

Hi Erik - it is best not to hold any fish by the gills - if you are careful, you can put your hand under the gill cover, but need to stay away from the gills (unless of course you are going to keep the fish). Otherwise, you can grab the area just before the tail and then with your other hand, grab just under the neck area :)

As a Detroit walleye fisherman myself... I find that reg jigs work prefect and have for years as I see how this new jig works I see how the idea it and how it works but in the long run this would become a huge pain if snagged also it requires a larger hook set... On the other hand the cost more then a reg jig head... Ps u hit the run too late by the time the small mouth are in the big females already left... Also in warmer water (above 50 or so) u should try more up river by bell or the casino or even by the salt mounds... How hope this comment help u with your product and with your next trip out.
