I’ve watched several videos on joining and yours is the clearest! Both in words and in camera angles! Thank you!

I had totally given up double pointed needles because of the gap. No matter how tight I knitted or adjusted the tension the gap would not go away, was so frustrated. This gives me courage to try a dpn pattern again.

Great, this definitely helps. Another way that many use is switching the first and last stitch of the cast-on stitches but I find this was easier and use always.

Thank you, thank you for this video! I am beginning my first pair of socks using DPNs for the first time, and I was flummoxed on how to join the round. I followed your video yesterday, and now have 1 inch of ribbing done!!! Yeah!!!!

Thanks for your video. My mum used to knit all my dad's socks. I'd decided to knit myself some leg warmers, but realised after buying some, that I hadn't got a clue how to cast on with double ended needles & mum's no longer here, for me to ask her.
@TuulaMaaria9 ай бұрын
Happy knitting, hope you get the leg warmers done! 💗

I could not wrap my mind around how I was going to cast on this stupid hat. Thank you so much!

Hi, do I have to join every row I make or just the first? (with dpns obviously)
@TuulaMaaria4 жыл бұрын
Just the first one, when you are castingon. To avoid creating a gap that would then show for many rows.

When knitting socks on a double pointed needles should I join at each round 🤔
@TuulaMaaria8 ай бұрын
No, just the first round after casting on the stitches.
@leavesongrass5 жыл бұрын
So after joining you count that first stitch as already worked and as a purl stitch. Is that correct?
@TuulaMaaria5 жыл бұрын
Yes, the stitch that you joined together (decreased) counts as the first stitch. I normally do it as a knit stitch as I have on the video but it could also be a purl stitch if you prefer to start with purls.
