How to Judge Distance for Bowhunting and 3-D Archery

I’ve been carrying a rangefinder and guessing the distance first. I’m quite terrible at it. Came here for help. Thanks the for suggestion on finding half the distance and then double. Never thought of that, but seems the best for me.
