But Niko, what was the problem with the 220 welding outlet in the shop? You mean to tell me that wasn’t a grounded outlet, or were you just being informative letting everyone know what to look for? Ps. My condolences for the loss of your father.

Hello LP, sorry for the confusion. In the video, the welder outlet that I'm plugged into does have a neutral ground. The single small green light that I show on the charge adapter means that a neutral ground is ready. This is good. If you plug this into a wall outlet and the 1st green light doesn't turn on, your car WON'T charge.

Hi, Niko. Didn't know you were making KZbin videos. Here's my question now that I have a Tesla. My Model 3 RWD has a 16 volt Lithium Ion battery for the low voltage system. All of the portable jump starters that I have looked at say they cannot be used on anything but a 12 V battery. Some say they cannot be used on anything but a lead acid battery. So what do I purchase as a portable jump starter? Thanks.

Hello Merwynmiller5502. The 16 volt battery on most 2021 and newer Tesla's is a "new automotive" thing. Traditionally for the last 100 or so years, there has only been 3 different voltage options: 6 volt (cars made before the 1960's), 12 volt(cars made before current day to the 60's), or 24 volt(mostly military and aviation). 16 volt is a relatively new thing, it's not automotive normal yet. The market will dictate when a 16 volt jumper pack is needed, and I imagine someone will create it at that time. For now, the most important thing you want to make sure of. Don't jumpstart another car(a standard 12 volt car) with your car's jumper connection. The 16 volt battery has a very small amp hour rating, and the voltage is too high. It can seriously damage a 12 volt standard car. Standby on when to purchase a 16 volt jumper pack. You won't need one for a while. Keep the car plugged in and it should be fine.
