Great tip about making sure to use a glass palette that is tempered glass, not glass from a picture frame. Op shops (charity stores) often have glass cutting boards that are fairly cheap. Id think they would be strong glass. Some have images underneath but they can be scraped off easily enough. Great to see your channel going strong. Great work!

Hi I'm actually new to this painting business. When I pour acrylic paint on to the pallet and if I need to use the rest of the remaining paint later, ( maybe after 2 days, )I keep the pallet in an airtight container. At the base of the container I have placed a wet sponge. Therefore, when you put your pallet with acrylic paint into it and close, the paint stay fresh. I actually do this very often since I'm working while taking care of my one and a half year old baby. So this has been a very effective way for me to save my paint from drying.

Lennox! So you can get a thicker piece of glass (vs picture frame) in the local hardware store. The edges are sharp, so cover them with duct tape for safety. It's also a bit heavy, so it will have to be on the desk top (vs a palette in your hand)... Thanks for showing the effects of the medium. Most people just say it and never show it... Great job!

Have you tried using a Wet Pallete. Like the ones made by Mastersons? Mastersons Sta-Wet Pallete I use for miniature painting (we use acrylics too) Basically the cheap verson is a sponge in a container with water (so its not floating) with parchment paper/baking paper on top (not wax paper) the paint soaks up the water and stays moist. Masterson makes pallets from around A4 to A3 i think, perhaps bigger. Your wet pallete can keep in a fridge with paint on it for days.

Great video and channel. You might look for a small glass pastry/chocolate board - restaurant supply stores carry them here for pennies and they're always completely smooth, tempered glass and sensible colours (white or transparent).

thank you for your videos. i started painting recently, and i just want to have fun. i use 30x30cm canvas right now and it is a good size for me. maybe later i will try bigger sizes. i have a question: you mentioned you don't waste color, but put everything together at the end of day and this way you have something like a grey or black or something like that. it sounds good. but how do you keep it? in a syringe? because it has to be kept somehow so that it will not dry.
@SyndiaArt4 жыл бұрын
In a small plastic container with a lid on top and I give it a spritz of water before closing the lid. (note: adjusting the container size is important... the more empty space in the container relative to how filled with paint it is, the more quickly it will dry up) Hope it helps.

Get a piece of plexiglass and cut it out the way you want it to be. And you don’t have to worry about breaking it. And where ever you get the plexiglass at they should be able to cut it for you. You can even drill a hole through it to hold it.

No. As I said in the video, adding open medium to regular acrylic paints (and comparing it to open paints).

Btw i wanna ask you something. Witch liquitex professional paint is best? Cause if i wanna (if i am better at painting) up grade to the professional liquitex paint. So should i go whit a heavy body or a soft body? Thank you so mutch for this video. I,ll see you in you,re next video. Bye😁👍🏼👋🏼
@SyndiaArt3 жыл бұрын
If you like a more expressive and abstract approach a heavy body is more versatile but if you do figurative or realistic paintings soft body is better.

Wet for a DAY OR TWO?? HOW!! I’ve been an OIL painter my whole life & JUST bought hundreds of $ in acrylics NOT realizing that within just 1 to 1.5 hrs, the smaller paint “mounds” are nearly dry & the larger ones the ENTIRE TOP & usually then some is DRY. I LOVE painting but IDK HOW ANYONE can choose or even ENJOY acrylics. I’m so outdone ! And the BLENDING on the canvas is a whole different MONSTER! 😩 I went from being a beautiful painter to feeling & looking like I JUST STARTED. I cannot even BLEND between colors as it DRIES in minutes leaving a sharp, dry LINE between the colors. I’m using water (even misting the canvas) & STILL it’s not great. Plus I find the water dilutes/thins so much, the vibrant color gets lost & have to keep adding…. I feel so HELPLESS. Painting is ALL I have rn to keep mind off so many financial issues & acrylics have ADDED to my depression!!!! Just cant figure out WHY anyone chooses it over oils??!! Wish I could find HELP to enjoy the process.

I tell my customers who don't want a varnished piece to keep their art piece away from the kitchen or bathroom because I am afraid steam will loosen the paint from the canvas. Is this correct assumption?
@SyndiaArt3 жыл бұрын
Yes it's true. It also depends just how humid the area gets. And an artwork framed under glass in a humid bathroom would be the biggest risk.
@ArtsySDS3 жыл бұрын
@@SyndiaArt I live in Southern Ohio, USA, so it gets pretty humid in the summer here. Thanks for the information. I will pass on the information.
