UPDATE: Airtime has a new video that shows an easier way to get the pinning string through the strut. They also pin both sides of the bladder. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKjQkpVmadZjrac

Hey, I found your video helpful. I’ve had the same issue with a mantis strut bladder folding over at the top and bursting. Unfortunately, when I replaced the bladder four weeks ago, I didn’t use your retrofit method, and it’s burst again. Cabrinha seems to have the strut bladder back in stock. Unfortunately the pull through loop on the bladder appears to be on the wrong corner. Any suggestions or thoughts? It will be much trickier to poke a hole through the other side of the strap material.

See if there is a little gap in the material there the 2022 mantis has a little gap there. Unfortunately dealing with bladders is an absolute nightmare. I’ve been sending mine to airtime to replace because on the more complicated valve systems especially it’s really easy to get a twist when installing and popping it again. It’s just not worth the hassle to me anymore. Check out Airtime’s video on their installation method if you want to do it yourself. The Msntis is one of the easier ones to replace at least.

great video ! thanks maybe you don't need to make a new hole. Maybe simply by leveraging the valve hole ?

The valve hole is too far down and still allows the top of the bladder to slip down. Not sure how you could make it work. But maybe there’s a way. I had another bladder that I retrofitted pop today. So, it’s important to install them correctly. This was on my F-One 8.0 which has 2 valves and therefore is harder to install than the Cabrinha in the video. So many gear issues to deal with in this sport!
