Very helpful video. 2016 Kia Sorento L 2.4L. Vacuum tubes location / connector types were slightly different, but still similar enough to understand. Make sure to order the correct OEM part from Kia’s website by entering your VIN. But installation went smoothly, i’m very new to DIY and this was very strait forward. It took me 5 hours and 55 minutes lol (Ratchet and socket style). Including multiple runs to auto zone for a couple tools, and lots of recording myself step by step Saved myself a $475 quote from the mechanic. Ended up being a $25 OEM part from kia and some time and patience.

Guys, absolutely do not reinstall that high pressure fuel line like he did. That’s an invitation for an under-hood inferno. That HPFL is one time use only. It must be replaced. It’s $75+. It handles pressures 2000psi +. The torque is very specific. Also, the bolts holding the fuel pump down must be replaced (one time use). When you install the fuel pump back on, the cam lobe and follower must be at their lowest point first (turn the crank if needed). The two bolts must be tightened down til both touch the pump, then a 1/2 turn each side at a time so it’s pushed down into the bore evenly. If you have two sockets, extensions and ratchets, turning both at the same time would also work.

Very good guide. I would depressurize the fuel system first by removing fuel pump fuse and let idle until engine shuts off, to prevent fuel splashing when removing lines.

Unfortunately this will not solve white smoke issue. I'm guessing you have coolant entering your combustion chamber could possibly be the head gasket also kia has extended warranty on these gdi motors for oil consumption thus causing engine failure. I would suggest contacting your local kia tech and talk to them about your situation

No I used gasket but I did put little bit of rtv on corners when engine connects (it’s in video )

you might just have worn 10 mm socket or bad Impact Wrench Socket Retainer Retaining O Ring
