God bless you Joey. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I was a heroin addict for 5 years 1995-2000. I did the methadone thing (subs weren’t around yet) and you are completely right about that. The withdrawals from methadone are worse than H. It was hell for like 6 months with those creepy crawly restless legs at night for 6 months after stopping the methadone. Never went back to H thankfully and have now been opioid clean for 23 years. But ya fuck methadone. Everybody I knew was doing it and still doing H at the time including myself. I would recommend just going cold turkey over that shit (which I’ve done too in the past so I can say that). Anyway, love you bro. Be safe and God bless

23 years clean! Congratulations bro. Methadone stays in your system a lot longer and it's a real bitch to get off of gear withdrawals are done in a week of clucking hard methadone is that x4 I hate the stuff. I actually dropped my dose from like 80mg down to 20 mg so I could switch to subbies but after dropping dose like that for many weeks I finally got to 20mg then cold turkey 48 hours then go in to titrate on the subutex got 8 mg I didn't go in to precipitated withdrawal because of the 48 hours and low dose of 20 mg before switching but I really felt like shit especially the 1st day and the 2nd then you start adjusting and Subutex is so much cleaner and keeps your head clear. So much better than methadone it is also much easier to come off of with small 0.4 mg sublingual tabs. It's a struggle for sure and there's always hiccups along the way. All the best Dude ✌️

Hey Joey, found your channel recently and I truly enjoy your content. We have a lot in common although I am a recovering alcoholic. I was at my lowest living in crack den rooming house in Newburgh, NY. I was basically a garbage head. I would do any drugs people would bring by. LUCKILY for me heroin just wasn’t my thing. I lived like that for years. When my mother passed away I actively tried to drink myself to death for about 2 weeks following the funeral. One night I had a nightmare that I broke my mother’s heart by killing myself. I went to rehab the next day. I’ve got a pretty interesting life story myself. I am living proof that ANYONE can beat their demons. If you ever want some laughs I got some stories for ya. Keep up the good work Joey. You are appreciated.

A sick society is what led us to these drugs. I was never on heroin, but I've taken every kind of stimulant/speed known to man. I'm supposed to work longer and harder just to barely survive. It's no wonder everybody's taking things to stay awake. Where are we supposed to go where we don't have to work like a slave for money? Everybody's either on anti-depressants or speed or both. How do we deal with this? Something's got to change in this country or were gonna have more zombies in the streets.

I started pain pills around 2008-2009. Back when pills were flooding the street and they were CHEAP! I’m now 40 and I’ve been off and on subs since 2010. Been to rehab twice. I did great for about 5 years and then I started dabbling in poppy seed tea and back on the subs I went. Currently I’ve been off of everything and just doing subs since 2019. I’m on 8 mg/day and just maintaining.

Subs and are tough to kick. I been on em for 10 fucking years. You gotta get from deep down to even titrate down in dose. Hard to do that when you have a full time 50 hour per week job and taking care of a wife and kid with a big mortgage. I do have to quit tho, cause I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.

I quit oxy's the day I told myself I would and took the withdrawal on the chin and never did oxys again and never will. Same with tobacco, I never go in gas stations, only pay at the pump because I can't buy tobacco, squares or dip. Cold turkey will make you more confident in yourself too because if you tell yourself you are going to do something and don't each time, you are screwing yourself bad. Just pick a day to get off forever and stick to it.

I kicked dope bc I was sick of the withdrawal feelings and my dope dealer got locked up. I won’t ever buy drugs through a middleman ever in my life because the middleman is always a broke ass Dopefiend trying to get over and I would not put myself in that position ever. I’m not that much of a adult pad to lose money over a middleman junkie loser. so I quit and going to jail for 11 months helped tremendously. I’ve never looked back and I was only on it for two years but I never looked back and I don’t even remember what the feeling feels like and now it’s too late to start up again because I don’t feel like dying.

So many bombs in my life and I refuse to hang out with poor people. Because I am not poor, not even close, and people hang out with who they are, and yeah this made me sober up real quick once my drug dealer went to prison. I would even buy the middleman his fix and he would still try to get over on my bag and pull some crap. That lasted like one time and yeah I hate throwing away money and I’m not gonna let some bomb get over on me. I’ll just quit doing dope it’s that easy.

hi Joey just wanna say that i m thankful for having a similar process of thinking by being really simple with the fact that when something as to be done because its bad and all that you simply have to trick your mind and change your mind to stop dope and stuff… I m 17 i m the type of guy that think that the on who are smoking and drinking are like some people that cannot find happiness are achievement, I m starting to drink alcohol you know at the beginning it was just a beer then another in a very short amount of time so after 30 min i m starting to be drunk and i kinda like the feeling of it and i m saying to myself that i m not that kind of guy that drinks to feel something and not that drinks to taste something. Today i drank a hole glass of liquor in like 3 minutes straight just because I was mad at a video game and that i wanted to feel chill out by another source then just trying to chill out I all so vape a lot because i like the feeling of burning my throat lol wtf and i ve stooped it 3 days ago i just threw my vape in the trash i m trying to stay as normal as possible so it dosent t happent again. thank you for your content you are amazing

cool vid! I am on subs now, I developed a high dependence on codeine tablets and poppy seed tea. Even though poppy seeds were cheap and usually easy to get sometimes I would literally drain all of the stockists out of their supply and usually, my codeine script would have run out to so I was always going in and out of withdrawal and it was starting to impact my ability to work when I was sick. I just grew so tired of it. It took me 6 months to finally get my first dose of sub from the clinic. The clinic wanted to put me on 16mg sub at the start too! I felt comfortable on 4mg only! No way did I need such a high dose. I get the clinics point though, their main goal is to stop the spread of hepC and HIV and overdoses from injecting. So their theory is give them such a high dose so the patient will be so satisfied with the sub thus reducing the liklihood of them feeling they need to inject. But I wasnt an injector just a poppyseed tea drinker and a codeine pill swallower.

I had a similar experience after accidentally getting addicted to gabapentin. 95% of the videos on it right now on KZbin are either doctors saying it’s not addictive or people saying it’s harder to get off than dope and benzos. I’m still on it at a much lower dose but it’s been nowhere close to dope in terms of getting off it

I totally agree with Joey they tried to give me 2 8mg subs a day and i do fine with 2mg a day. Even 0.5 mg keeps me from craving and blocks any dope if i tried. I have done the same thing trying to get high on subs and you just get pissed off that you don't get high. But it is hard to quit the subs but it helps stabilize you and gets you into a normal routine and not chasing dope and associating with people that still do.

Most addicts these days are hooked on fentanyl and in my experience Drs don't know how to use subs w fentanyl. I once waited 24 hrs after my last pill and still got sent into insane precipitous withdrawal. It was pure insanity. I'm currently just cutting back reducing my intake by half a week at a time. Hopefully within the next three weeks to a month I'll be able to stop completely. Do you have any insight on subs and fentanyl? I know it wasn't your drug of choice but you know the community so, couldn't hurt to ask. Thanks bro. PS, restless leg syndrome is the FN worse. Love the channel bro!

You need to wait 72 hrs before taking a sub. No dope for 72 hrs. Go through the suck. Toughen up. 72 hrs, take the sub.

I been on subs for 10 years from a pill addiction from surgeries. I kicked methadone cold turkey from 10mg a day and was sick for 6 months maybe more...it took at least 12 months to be back to normal. I was a bricklayer at the time. Now working in mills and having kids and a mortgage makes it tough to start to titrate down, but your advice helps man. Subs have a 48 -36 hour half life, wich makes em a real struggle to stop. Theres a shot called vivitrol, have you heard of that or anyone on here had experience with it?, and does it work?....ive heard its a miracle shot, but if you dint have insurance its a grand for the shot. Ultimately i definitely want to be be done with this crap.

I've heard of the shot. Can't say I know anyone who used it. Yea the thing with shrinking the dose is you can always take another little bit to get you to the next dose. But yes only shrink the dose when you know deep down it's the right time.

@joeythegypsy .....thank you for responding back man. This has been suck a burden for my family, and i get it thru a Dr from a practice. It definitely changes who you are and your personality. I been ready a long time, it's just tough to start and I don't have the will power I used to have. I appreciate your advice and the video, as you said there's not really any videos that help a person overcome this evil shit.

Stop using is not easy, but its possible. In my opinnion Therese two major hurdels... First, when you on it, its like Joey says, you just cant imagine Life without IT and you also love it. And hate it also in some level. Second and the most important thing is, you just have to want to stop yourself and not screw your self like addicts do a LOT.... But this system Joey is talking about Works, i've done it pretty much just the same way! Peace! ✌️

Bro do you not know how to splice your clips or edit to cut out the sirens and shit? Honest question. Your vids would be so much better with just slim editing and splicing some unnecessary bits out
