@@RokoleeDIY I have made 9 pumpkins now, and I used the weird yarn (which is actually green and silver not gold 😂) as stalks. My friend saw a picture of the first 4 pumpkins I made and she fell in love with them. I then made 3 smaller ones and uploaded a picture of the 7 together and she’s nabbed them too! Now I have 2 left so I need to make more. Lol 😂

Im self teaching, and just learning, and I was wondering how long i have to make the other piece of yarn before i start cast ons? The piece not connected to the skin.. I keep running out before I make 42 cast Ons. I'm probably not making any sense. Ugg

Hi! I think you're talking about the long tail cast on I do at the beginning? I talk a little bit about how to estimate how much yarn you'll need here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJvQf6inpst5rpI

What would you suggest for an Worsted or Aran weight yarn? With bigger yarn less stitches are needed to create the ribbing width and with smaller more stitches would be needed to obtain that same width. Is working on a multiple of 4 plus 2 still feasible?
@RokoleeDIY
@RokoleeDIY 2 жыл бұрын
If you knit the exact same pattern in a lighterweight yarn - e.g. worsted instead of chunky - you'll end up with the same pumpkin but smaller. But if you want it to be the same size as the one in my video, you may need to do a little experiment. I would suggest you make a swatch of 3x3 rib to see if you like the look of that. If you do 2x2 rib (like in the video) in worsted yarn, the ribs will of course be thinner so it really depends on what look you want. For 3x3 ribbing you would cast on a multiple of 6 stitches, plus 3. Then row 1 would be: k3, * p3, k3 Repeat from * Then the following rows you'll just be knitting the knits and purling the purls. You may even want 4x4 ribbing, and for that you would cast on a multiple of 8 stitches, plus 4. Then: k4, *p4, k4 Repeat from * Knit the knits and purl the purls for the remaining rows. Basically, decide what kind of ribbing you like the look of, then knit a rectangle that looks to be about the same size as the one I made, and you should be good! Hope that helps

I have a question . . .after I've done my 17th row the working thread and the cast-on thread are on opposite ends. Watching your video it looks like they're on the same end. I can't see that it matters but I was just curious. Thanks.
@RokoleeDIY
@RokoleeDIY 2 жыл бұрын
Since the ribbing is reversible it doesn't matter, but if it bothers you, you can always just do an extra row somewhere. It's a pretty forgiving pattern :)

I’m using an rusty orange yarn. Because its darker than yarn you used, would you use a smaller needle due to the stuffing showing? What needle would you suggest and how many stitches should I cast on?
@RokoleeDIY
@RokoleeDIY 3 жыл бұрын
I would knit a swatch of ribbing in your yarn with a needle size a couple of sizes smaller than mine. I would then put stuffing behind it to see if it's hidden enough for you. If not, go down more sizes and re-swatch. Once you find the best needle size, you can then measure that swatch and see how many stitches and rows you have per inch. From there, you can work out how many stitches you need to get the pumpkin size you want. You may want to do 3x3 or 4x4 ribbing instead with a smaller needle to get the wide bands of ribbing still, as 2x2 ribbing in smaller stitches will obviously result in narrower bands. Hope that helps!
