Sorry I’m totally new to fair isle after your first row and you go into the 2nd row with just the color A what do you do with your accent tail? And then to pick it up wouldn’t you have a long float to row 3?

I'm watching this as a serious knitting beginner (experienced crocheter) and your tips for the colorwork to avoid long floats in the back and how to join in the round are awesome. However, it seems that there is a gap after the first round of colorwork. timestamp 11:44. You say in the video to complete the first round as demonstrated, then do 1 round with just the main color. When you come back, you have already completed the 2nd round of colorwork with no instruction on how to do that. I'm looking at the pattern which is linked and I'm hoping I can decode the instructions (not much of a pattern reader and rely on videos) to make this happen. Fingers crossed for me!

Did you figure it out? I'm confused now too
@susanterry42762 жыл бұрын
@@HandleToWatch sorry - no! The instructor never replied and since I do this for relaxation, I bailed and moved on to something else. Life is too short to be aggravated by a hobby! I had forgotten about this and will have to take another look to see if it's still not making sense to me. Good luck!

Hey, thanka for the video. How do you do the magic loop? Do you have a video for this? My needles are far too big for the size hat i want to knit (the hat will be for a one year old)
@wendajones9040 Жыл бұрын
A question: why do you have to increase on the first knit row?
@GoodKnitKisses Жыл бұрын
The brim generally would be too loose, compared to the width of the hat, so having less stitches on the brim offsets that.
@wendajones9040 Жыл бұрын
@@GoodKnitKisses I see. Thanks you!

Hi, I was wondering if you need to increase four times on a row with 60 stitches shouldn't you do 14 stitches and then an increase stitch?
@ranakardelen46296 жыл бұрын
Dear Good Knit Kisses, do you have a video for loom knitting , this same hat with little hearty shapes ?
@GoodKnitKisses6 жыл бұрын
Yes but I have been really delayed making a video on it. I'll update this comment here though when I get the video up. So Sorry for the delay there just aren't enough hours in the days.

Hi Kristen! I was wondering if it is possible to do the magic loop technique and fair isle at the same time? Unfortunately, I only have 32" needles
@GoodKnitKisses4 жыл бұрын
Sure! I’ve done that.

@CassieDA176 жыл бұрын
What length circular needles allows you to not have to switch to DPNs? I'm currently making a hat on 16" and was planning to switch, but then saw this video where you didn't switch. I'm a fairly new knitter so a little confused.
@EileenQxz6 жыл бұрын
A16"needle is the best length for most hats knit in the round

How much of color B did you use? I have a partial ball of a color I would like to use as the accent color but not sure how much I would need.

Can you make this hat with a very thick rib because that’s usually what I do with hats
@GoodKnitKisses6 жыл бұрын
Sure! So Sorry for the delay. Eek! It will just appear bulkier on the ribbing though.

because I can't needle knit, should I just do the cowl and close the bottom for the hat? I tried to convert from needles to loom and it was just way too confusing :( I'm very disappointed.

never mind, looks like the cowl is for needles as well .
