How to Knit Left Handed - the Purl Stitch

Thank you! My lefty youngster was very frustrated because I couldn't show her how to knit left-handed. Now, I am learning to knit this way (even though I'm a righty)--that way I will be able to help her out.

Love this series. My mum gave up teaching me when I was younger cos she didn't know how to convert it to the other side. So now I'm learning in my twenties! Although I've been alternating knitting and purling it still looks like a garter stitch, I don't' know what I'm doing wrong.

Thank-you! Now I can do the "stockinette stitch"...but I did have to watch a few times to figure out that I have to pull the loop through the back almost, helps to keep the string down to the left :)
