Wish you would consider offering this tutorial again but use a light background to contrast the black yarn you used. It would make it easier to see the progression and pattern ; making it easier to follow.

At 3:00 is when things start to get tricky for me because I struggle with the knitting/pearling and when you demonstrate that step you go too fast and hold the camera too far away to see exactly what you’re doing and I’ve tried rewatching that part over and over on full brightness and highest quality but sadly it still didn’t make a difference because the camera was going in and out of focus repeatedly. Can you make another video like this one but with changes that fix the problems of this video? And you can add/change some aspect about the beanie to make it a unique video upload rather than a edit or a redo of this one so you won’t lose any work/time/likes/comments/revenue/etc.

Lauren Atwood you'll probably never end up reading this comment, but to anyone else who reads it too, I think you should watch a couple of the learning to knit videos by goodknitkisses because I watched some of her videos when I was just starting and she really clearly explained casting on and doing the first few rows and things, and she went super slowly too so you could pretty much keep up, or just keep pausing

Hi there, I’m knitting for my very first time ever, and I was intrigued by your video with your beanie design! So far, I’m on the very first step of the 98 stitches. I’m at 85 stitches out of 98, but the “extra” string that is to my left that is not attached to the ball of yarn is very short and may not be enough for the rest of the stitches. What can I do here? I am a total newb! You have a great video though, and I can’t wait to finish my very first knitting project! Thanks to you :)
@fffannyyy6 жыл бұрын
Also, would having little to no “extra” string affect the way my beanie turns out in end? One more thing, what length would you recommend keeping the “extra” string for next time? I had it at about 1 1/2 feet long. Thank you so much in advance! Any help will do!
@UKraining6 жыл бұрын
I'm afraid you have to redo your stitches with a longer "extra" string otherwise your hat will be too tight.

Has anyone else attempted this and found their stitches got very tight at the knit/purl then slip rows? They're so tight after 3 of these rows that my hands are getting sore from tugging them across my wooden needles. Any tips to fix this?
@michyoung778 жыл бұрын
one, wooden needles will always have a tight tug-like flow to it when your knitting. They are meant for beginners who easily drop stitches. You should switch to Aluminum or metal needles, you will find knitting far quicker and smoother. Don't worry, knitting needles are very cheap, you can get a pair for about $3. Another thing you can try is loosing the tension on your yarn line, and stretching out the stitches to be more loose, and not tightening them when you knit. Good luck, and I hope that helped!
@sjackson58168 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! You confirmed my theory! I was thinking it was time to switch to metal needles too. I'm definitely going to try.
@michyoung778 жыл бұрын
I actually ran into a tight stitches problem on my needles too. I highly suggest stretching your stitches out during the slip phase. I found it helped me tons. :)
