I love the way you showed how hard it is to get the needle in to complete the increase. Most would have edited part of that out. It made me smile to see someone else struggle like I have on so many occasions when doing this type of increase.

Sandra Drouin Thanks for the kind comment. I debated whether I should redo the video or not. In the end, I decided that reality is best. It is hard doing that first increase, no doubt about it.

I'm fairly new to sock knitting. I am comfortable with top down sock knitting. Your video was helpful and clearly articulated. Also I now understand what to look for when creating a M1L or M1R.

Thanks for the tip at 2:44 for the tip on M1R in loosening the tight stitch....I have struggled with it in the past and am sure this will make them easier to do in the future!

Hi Suzanne is it possible to still get holes while doing increases if I'm knitting to tight. I've tried flexible needles, double points different ways to cast on. Always one side is perfect the other side is full of holes. What am I doing wrong?

What type of cast on are you using?

Knitting with Suzanne Bryan Judy's magic cast on. I think I know what I was doing wrong the yarn in the back was behind instead of inside. I was turning my needles the wrong way when I started a new row. I was concentrating to hard on holding my stitches when pulling the front needle. And probally a lillte destraction when increasing. dukeofpurl I really like their "sharps" which these weren't. These were their normal tips. All future Hiya Hiya purchases will be the sharps.

Thanks for the tip! For knitting ITR using 2 circs, I suppose that fixed-length circs are all that needed? And Maybe cheaper?

Yes, I have 2 24" circs in all of the sizes that I frequently use. You can do anything with them.
