Our 2003 Ford Escape had 3 cats (1 off each bank and 1 underneath before the muffler). The front cat broke up when a coil pack went bad and let raw fuel dump into the catalyst. This happened after the dealership sold us on replacing all 6 coil packs. I gutted the cat and vacuumed out the pipe that led to the underneath cat. Put it all back together and sold it to a car dealer that was going to replace the cat and sell it. That was our last Ford.

Even if they did, as an exhaust company in Tn it would be illegal. Their version of the EPA and Licensing would be on their door step within hours of someone releasing the video. Not worth the fine or worse, losing their business license for one vehicle.

Not worth all the health problems that comes along when removing the cat.. I attend and take photos of old cars once a year but people feel sick and nauseous after a while, one even had to throw up. Imagine 400 cars without cats cruising super slow in the city, it's disgusting 😅 Still a fun event but my god I feel sick later during the evening.

I had a 94 Miata with a clogged cat. Ripped out the cat because it kept overheating on hills. Ran so much better afterward and even was a bit faster lol

Had a '93 Mercury Cougar. Straight piped from the cats back, it still sounded like it had mufflers (too quiet). Gutted out all 3 cats and it was so much better and louder sounding AND had more HP!

I would love to get my car to your shop I'm about 700 Mi away. I have a 1996 Ford Thunderbird with the 4.6 L 2v. I have the catalytic converters for cleaned out because they were stopped up and I put two Flowmaster Super 10s on there. It's super loud. I have no tips so it's coming straight out of the muffler. I get a lot of complaints that it's too loud and there's a lot of drone inside of the car. I wish I could get a price without having to go all the way down there about running true duals or x pipe

I had a Clogged Cat on my 2005 Envoy, thing was lacking Power and Shifting Funny, thought the Trans was going out. Put an Exhaust Back-pressure gauge on it and determined it was a Clogged Cat. Put a New Walker Mid-Pipe Cat and it drove like New Again! Question...Can I Sell the Old one for the Precious Metals that everyone Steals these for, and if so where can you sell them?

I had a 2001 Grand Prix GTP doing the same thing. Barely would pull itself up the hill and across the road to my house from work, and the transmission was doing weird things. I thought it was done, so I sold it for scrap (244k on it, so not worth fixing). The guy I sold it to to junk it checked it out and cut the cat off of it and it ran fine lol

My 2010 yaris runs so much better without the cats. The downside is the sparkplug defouler trick doesn't work so it threw a permanent p0420. With the code the car ran like shit. Poor feul economy and loss of power. I tricked the ecu to clear the code by creating a lean condition. When it cleared the lean code it also cleared the cat code. I keep clearing the pending cat code before it becomes permanent.

I have never heard of exhaust rushing out of the manifold gaskets due to a clogged cat. If that’s the case, this truck would have been making a huge racket with blown manifold gaskets. Everyone knows what blown manifold gaskets sound like and this was not it. I don’t know how he could say the exhaust was rushing out of the gaskets lol. Made me spit my coffee
